Custom fuel cell.

I was just wondering if anyone has done a custom fuel cell on there L yet. Its getting close to winter aroudn here and I'm about to start ripping her apart to see what I can modify and make better, . The one thing I've been considering for the past year is a custom fuel cell that would postion the tank mostly over the rear end and also sump it a bit so that gas would rush towards the pumps and not away from them.

I have two new 255lph in tank pumps from spiro that I'm going to use but I was just wondering if anybody's done anything like this before. Pics would be great if you have them to give me a better Idea.

Also I think with the tank repositioned I could make dual exhaust on both sides of the truck, YEAH BABY!

If and when I get down to it I'll take some pics for you guys to see.

Later, JOE.

HIGH RISK had put in a fuel cell in the bed of his L, towards the back. He also put in the dual exhaust to the left side to match. I'm not sure if he comes he much anymore.

Talking

Cked into it and Fuel Safe will make a cell using the stock fuel tank.they would install 2 pumps and foam plus it will still have the stock fuel guage to work with it.Would be NHRA,FIA,SCCA and such approved. Not cheap $1500.00 to do plus the price of a new tank.Stan
But I am going to relocate and build my own to what I need.

I think the fuel cell is more of a customized/appearance mod rather than a usefull benefit......especially at 1500 a pop

I guess if you are going 200mph it would probably be of some benefit......Ruslow....

As an idea, i would like to see a rear sump for a heavy duty external fuel pump. Something like a Cartech or paxton.

To true, but for me to go any faster I HAVE to have one.But decided to build one to my spec. then send it off to be lined and cert. Biggest problem is that our trucks are obdII and they pressurize the tank on start up so the cell will have to be compatiable with the system.

Ruslow, Could sal turn the section off with the chip so it wouldn't register anything wrong with the truck.

I can't see make a new style tank and switching parts over into it make a difference if it was air tight. Would it?
