Arrow 2001 or 2002 L?

Hey guys,

I am looking into buying a Lightning sometime in the near future....

i could get a 01 anytime, but im curious as to what the 02 has that the 01 doesnt.

anyone know the performance differences between the two?

plus, i heard that JAN is the first month of 02 production.. how long would it take to actually get the car?

also, how long does it usually take for performance upgrades to become available for new year models?

thanks.

Not much difference in the '02 from the '01...
White is being dropped, True Blue is being added.
Keyless entry
Locking wheel nuts
CD changer
All are standard.
Only option is the bed cover.
We have one on order and it looks like March or April for delivery.

As far as mods...
Depends on demand I think,
I personally think the aftermarket for the Lightning is amazing!
The amount of parts that have surfaced even in the last year is awesome!
I used to have a 96 Cobra, and I was still waiting for a good set of heads (Which still aren't out yet)

All in all, I think the market is pretty good for us!

Good luck with your decision!

If you want a White, Black, Red, or Silver one, go ahead and get the 01. If you want a Blue one, wait until 02. Like Drkone wrote, the only difference will be that wheel locks and a keypad will be standard. I already put the wheel locks on and am waiting for a good day to order and put in the keypad on (when I finally convince myself that I will be able to put my door back together after I take it apart).

Anyone know the price difference? 01 list is 32460.
Locking nuts were $38. Not sure how much the parts for the keypad are - check out svtlightnings.com. They've got a write up on the installation and maybe cost.

As for performance, I haven't read anything about differences between 01 and 02.

Considering the fact that the '02 engines and body will be the same as the '01, you will have so problems with aftermarket (all same aftermarket parts as the modifications used for '01) Simply, you will be fine with aftermarket for both years. So it comes to the fact on whether you want the True Blue color. I would just like to say, unless the price is right, get the 2002, it will be much better for re-sale value. Just my few cents.

Yeah Check out www.SVTLightnings.com and click on the how tos. The keypad mod rates about 1 wrench on the 1-5 wrench mod difficulty scale.

Doug

PS Thanks for the plug...
