Question Cobra R water pump and electric fan?

Are the gains for these mods noticeable? If so, what are the pros? Any cons? Thanks in advance for any help.

No.
Pros - don't use them
Cons - don't steal them
Just keep the engine cooler, and allow for quicker cool downs at the track.

Thumbs up

Excellent mods!! The electric fan gets rid of the heavy rotating weight of the stock fan and has an awesome cooling ability especially on high The cobra r water pump is much lighter also. While I didn't notice any SOTP improvement it has to free up HP! These type of small improvements all add up to a faster L

1BADTK -

I don't think I met you in Ennis: I sure respect your times. I have these pieces sitting in my garage waiting for me to take some vacation and I would be interested in why you don't seem to like these mods.

I am at 400 rwhp and looking for a little edge and I don't see a downside to the pump and fan.

Thanks.

1BADTX had the Red Lightning with the big black offset ramair on top of his hood. It must work pretty well because he was running in the 12.1x's. He has nitrous but I don't know if he used it or not.
Sorry Andre` about the anouncer making fun of your hood.
He would not cut you any slack when you were in the staging lanes.

Hey Jeff, that was some good numbers you had on the dyno.

Yeah, I kept making faces at both of them. I Do Not Run Nitrous When In Competition.... To Inconsistent. FFW Ennis was on all motor, and HOOD!

The mods are OK, and do freeup some HP (5 hp) maybe. The water pump and 160 degree thermo are yet to prove themselves down here in Houston but will get a chance this next summer. The electric fan is ok, a bit noise, and does help track cool down time.
A lot of money for the street, but exceptable for the track.
Sorry if I mis led you, didn't mean to.

Do you have a wet or dry shot? Just curious.
I was wondering what a 100 wet shot would shave off et's.

Thanks for the info 1BADTK.

Justin - My A/F is a little off and need to get that adjusted. Should be another 5-7 rwhp. I'm still looking for more and will definitely put on a larger blower when they are available. I would also like someone to finally produce some aftermarket heads for us. Maybe something will show up at the SEMA show.

How do you like your new chip?

I run the NX Wet System because it is adjustable from 50 to 150 and lets me play around. A 100 wet shot will generally knock of from .8-1.0 seconds assuming all thing equal such as traction, weather, etc. Complete animal on the street, and only good for impressive burnouts. Great for the 1/8 mile or 1/4 mile track on test n tune nights along with some grudge races. Not to consistent at the races, can vary .003-.150 seconds each run.
