Well I've decided I should not let the low apr rate pass me up. I am going to look at a white L tomorrow. Any tips before I talk to these guys?? I have a 97 wrangler I would be trading in. If anyone knows any straight shooters in the bay area that would be willing to give me a decent deal on a L I would appreciate it.
Also if you all could please respond with any questions I should ask before signing on the dotted line. <sigh> just got the jeep paid off 2!
keeping my fingers crossed =oX

p.s. wife is going to tahoe this weekend, she might come home to a shiny new truck in the garage.

Congrats. I was in your shoes last week.
1st Do you have X-Plan. I've heard in Calf its hard to find a dealer willing to do X-Plan but heyk, its worth a shot.
2nd (If yes to 1st) Don't expect to get below this. Nope, nada, not gonna happen. Be sure to try, let me know if it works.
2nd (If no to 1st) GET X-Plan. Do a search for it or EAA. Lots of info available in the boards.
3rd:
Some things to look for before taking ownership.
Check that the bed is on frame correctly. Rare, but it has happened.
Check for gouges under front bumber. Caused when taking it off the truck.
Check spare tire. Some reported 17" Firestone Wildnerness AT. Mine had 16" Wildnerness HT.
Check CD-Change casset (sp) Mine was missing.
Check Alignment, mine was pulling to left. Hard to tell during test drive, but 10 min down interstate you can tell.
I'll add more as I think of them.

Dealer figured $28,789.28 X-Plan for me. Based on $27,682.00 A-Plan. That's 4% more than A-Plan.

Buy It!!
Don't worry about price (I know- easier said than done), insurance, mileage or any of that other krap. JUST BUY IT! The thrills and rush I get from driving this thing are well worth the price!- A bargain at any price!!
Insurance isn't that bad. Got a good tip from a friend, would be happy to tell anyone, just email. :-), don't want to let everyone know, they might change it. Price isn't that bad either, you are considering 28k to almost 33k. That is quite a deal, plus, I hear they can refuse the X-plan if they want.
Like mocklab says, look it over carefully. Don’t let the excitement rush you along. Mine was parked under a tree and had both sap and bird s$$t on it. The bird s$$t got into the clear coat. So… look at an angle across the reflection to see any imperfections. I had 2 to choose from and picked the best one for scratches but missed the washed off bird s$$t. Look straight down on the back bumper around the ball mount. See if some moron used it as a step and scratch up the paint with rocks on the shoe.
Know head of time before for you see the finance guy if you want extended warranty and undercoat. I will be modding mine so the warranty would be void anyway. But if you do decide to get one, remember everything is negotiable. They make a profit on both and you can usually save a few hundred on a 7 year zero deductible extended warranty and I usually can get undercoat free or half price in the deal if you ask!! Although in this case I didn’t let them undercoat my L as it will never see snow. Of course we are talking zero interest here but the same goes for interest points, its negotiable as well.
One other thing, I would specifically tell your salesman that during the clean up, DO NOT WIPE the plastic lens on the gauge cluster. Most morons will scratch it. I made it a condition of the sale and had it written on the agreement. If they do scratch it up you will have a time getting it replaced free. Use a California duster.
Look the tires over good. Make sure no one has curbed it in a test drive. Goodyear wont replace a curbed tire when it separates, you own it…

Good luck and enjoy a really cool vehicle.
