E-town tonight

Where was everyone? Vin? Bruce?

Very much fun tonight.

My first run was horrible, I spun the tires horribly at launch, when I finally gained traction I heard this pop and then my truck got really loud. Turned out I blew the muffler off! Literaly the muffler was hanging on by the hangers that hold it up, the clamps weren't tight enough. I guess Ford needs to teach employees how to put mufflers on. Still, blew out muffler and layed of the gas I still dusted an R/T.

Second run, much better. I pulled a 13.6@103mph w/ a shamefull 60' time of 2.287

The Hotchkis rear springs did not help launches at all.

Jim@JDM ran very nice 11.96 w/ the new motor (200 miles on it), which on the second run he handed the keys over to Shuan who managed to pull a pitifull 11.89.

I didn't get to see the timeslips long enough to memorize them b/c everyone was hogging them.

Kyle finally made it into the 12's with a 12.92 - congradulations Kyle!

It was great seeing everyone, and those who didn't show you missed out.

Pete,

It was great seeing you again.
Had a real great time tonight.
It is really cool that you make that much power that you accually blow the muffler right off of it.
Make sure you tighten those clamps before Saturday.
I think everybody ran their best times tonight.
Can't get that 12 second smile off of 2FAST4U face ( Kyle)
We even ran our best with a 11.89

It definately was a good night. I didn't get to meet anyone, but I was the one in the stock looking White 2000. I ran my best time ever, on my first run - 13.66 @ 100.20 with a 2.12 60'. Traction was kinda hairy all night, especially as the temperature dropped. I get happier every time I go to the track, the times keep falling and falling! The nice cold temps helped a lot. I can only wonder - can I pull down a 13.5 if I can get my usual 2.0 60' on a night like tonight? Still as stock as the day I bought it? Hmmm. Take care guys. Also, does anyone know exactly what the temp and humidity where tonight at Etown? I'm so pissed they did away with putting the weather info on the timeslips.

Hey Pete, I figured out that I needed different lugnuts to mount my steel wheels with the slicks. Ran around like a lugnut trying to find some last night, that with the wind blowing like a bit$#, was enough for me to say chit!! Imagine my surprise when I went out around 8:30 last night and it was cool and calm...double chit

Got stuck with the truck in the morning on the way to work on the highway. I was going and gave it a WOT blacst and it seemd like it hit the boost limiter had no boost. I figured i would wait a few seconds should come back stepped on it nothing truck stalled. Try to start her wont turn over. I get her towed back to where my friend who does my mods works to let him look at it. It turns out that i blew the fuse for the fuel pumps. Since i had him put in the new bigger fuel pumps monday so he put a bigger fuse in a 30 from a 20 and the truck seems fine now. So i probaly didnt hit the boost limiter just ran out of gas and that WOT blast sucked what gas i had out of the fuel lines. I will be down there Saturday and race then. Hope to see all of you then. Anyone know if Spiro made it down last nite?
Vin

Captain,

Had a great time last night and as Jim said, I can't get the smile off my face!!!

I thought I would be stuck in the 13.0s again because it was RICER night and traction usually sucks.

Jim's two runs were AWESOME!!! Brand new motor and beat his old time!!!!

My best time last night was a 12.92@105.47
