Silverado SS
Its not the SS, but...
When I was trying to qualify for an AMA National this summer in Binghamton, NY, to my surprise, Chevy brought their Fox Motocross Concept truck for all to see. Seeing as I'm a motocrosser, I'm obviously biased...but if that truck see's the light of day for under $45k, the L will be up for sale and I'll be a buyer.
I wish I could find the link to show you guys (it has been brought up before here), but basically its a Chevy 2500-based 4x4 extended cab, with:
Four real doors
Four bucket seats
Two sunroofs
6-foot bed (with cutouts in the tailgate to hold 2 bikes)
"Custom" dual exhaust with 4" tips through the rear bumper
Slide-out ramps built underneath the bed
Tool boxes built into either side of the bed with pull out drawers
Front passenger side of the bed had a "door" that swung open
YELLOW tinted windows
~35" tires on 17' rims, and and most importantly...
a Whipple supercharger!
I remember reading a while back that it had like 429 hp, but the "tech" guy there didn't know much else (boost, tq etc).
I was across the pit when I heard it start up (it sounded pretty nasty), but by the time I had made my way over there again they had shut it off.
Obviously it wouldn't be nearly as fast (or fun) as an L, but since it does have a supercharger, I think I'd be willing to sacrifice the extra L quickness for the Chevy's extended cab, 4x4 (the L is currently my year-round daily driver), and al the little motocross amenities. I don't see them ever having the ***** to make it, but I can always hope. Just figured I'd throw it out there.
Later...

I hear the 4.7 sucks in the new Ram
It provides some nice acceleration in the much lighter Dakota, but I think I saw an article somewhere where it said in the Ram it can't even maintain more than 70 mph on slight highway grades.
This is probably a more likely version of the SS. What I can't figure is, why we're not seeing them on the streets.

Chevy SS 1/4-mile time: 14.12 @ 100.22 mph
Chevy SS 0 - 60 mph: 7.08 seconds. The L will have its number. http://www.pickuptruck.com/html/stor...oys/toys4.html
