Paging JL chip users & Factory Tech valve body users

Just wondering how they to work togeather? Are the shifts to hard. How is everyday driving? My truck shifts hard with the JL chip, but feels good. Is there any beifits on using both of them?

I have both of them and love the shifting. It is hard, but that is the way I like it. I had the accumulator before the JL chip, so I don't know how it is with just the chip. The shifts are very firm and quick. You might not like it for everyday driving, but I wouldn't mind at all.

You can have JL reduce the line pressure in the chip programming and let the new valve body do the work. That's what I did and the shifts are still firmer than stock during regular driving, but not obnoxious. Very firm at WOT though

Hey easterisland:

You trying to start trouble here with Justin???

I have a JL chip and Diablo Line Mod Valve installed in Trans.
I don't think it shifts to hard unless you get on it...I like the way they both work together all the time...

Actually, from what I have been told, the firm shifting is better on our Trans..

easterisland,

I went with a new JL Diablo chip and 90MM conversion on Sat. at the NMRA Finals in BG. I wanted to go faster, and I wasn't getting it done with the setup I had. I believe it is making a lot more top end power now, but I will find out for sure on the 20th when Saturday Night Fun racing is back! I sure hope we have good weather. Try to make it if you can. I believe good HP weather is here to stay for a while!

Justin

DL: Thanks for taking up for me bud! J/K Let me know if you are up this way again!

I have a JL chip and Factory Tech accumulator body. I am very pleased with the performance of both. I installed them both on the same night or maybe only one day apart, so I can't really say what the difference might be with one or the other on an otherwise stock truck.

Under wot, the shifts are awesome, the truck will lay down rubber on the 1-2 shift, and shifts fast and firm the rest of the time.

Around town cruising at low throttle the trans shifts very nicely, not harsh at all.

The only time it might feel a little funny, is when you are accelerating somewhat briskly (not regular cruising, but not wide open either) the trans can shift a little hard, like it cant decide if you are trying to haul a$$ or take it easy, but even this is not a problem at all, I am just nit-picking. I like the way my truck shifts now. I was never really pleased with how it shifted with my old JDM chip only and no tranny mod, and everybody knows it shifted like a granny mobile stock.

hope this helps.

later,
chris
