Yep, I do hear it consistently, right around where they said (4600 or so). It sounds more like a flat spot in your acceleration than an actual hesitation, but that's all semantics. Basically, the engine sound is going up, up, up, up, steady, up, up, shift.

HTH?

It easy to hear, just listen for the pitch change of the S/C. BTW, YOU KNOW YOU ARE ABOUT TO BREAK.... the needle on the boost gauge.

It's just the torque convertor locking up, no worries.

Terry, it's there, all 01s do it. At 4600 the converter locks up and the rpms "pause" for a moment. If you can't hear it, watch the tach sweep. It will stop going up for a second at 4600. It will be easier to see in 3rd since the rpms are going up slower.

I have to agree, it looks/sounds more like the torque converter. It's perfectly normal for these trucks. Mine does it at about 4400rpm, then I put new valves, torqueconverter etc and it's at about 4800 now.

I need a shift kit and a chip.

so the convertor locks in every gear,

i am used to my cobra,

the convertor is set to lock at a certain speed, but only in 3rd gear,

so, everything sounds fine to you sal?

i did a timeline on the video, looks awful close to a 12 second run to me, lol.

seemed like it took 13 seconds to hit 105, i am guestimating of course,

guess we'll see soon, lol!

My 2001 does the same and I've heard the torque convertor explanation also. Still kinda annoys me though.

i guess i don't really notice it that much, in the cobra, because we were locking at over 6k , and only in 1 gear, i think it was much more noticeable, like another shift
