Just returned Down's Intake

I received my downs intake 2 weeks ago and installed it, I was not happy with the design. The filter rubbed against the side of the engine compartment and begin to create a hole in the filter. I also didn't notice any significant gains other than blower whine. I am currently in the process of ordering the airaid setup, From reading all the posts it seems the best. Anyone disagree? Let me know.

P.S. Anyone from Massachusetts in this board please let me know, Since I have currently switched over from 2 previous Cobra's and are new to the L. Thanks

Thumbs up

I have the airraid currently but i upgraded the filter from the K and N filter they give you to a 10 inch Big mouth filter. But im gonan be getting rid of this set up when Sal from PSP Fast Air Setup is ready. Also the airriad box has to be modded for the 90mm MAF. The hole in the box is the size of the 80mm but the 90 still will bolt right up.

Downs Intake

I agree on the not-so-good fit and the filter hitting the body. I took it off, but will hold on to it. I went for the quick fix. I put a K&N panel filter in and put a couple 3 inch circular holes in the bottom of the box. Looks good too. Seem to get the same numbers from this setup as with the Downs tube. Just didn't like the fit...

Hey Xbigjoe,
I'm from Hingham, but usually hang at Triple A Hobby Shop on Saturday mornings in Wakefield.
Don, cruise sounds like a good idea, maybe after E-Town? Wish I could go, my weekend to work and still waiting on my I/C parts to come in. Probie (Al) is from Woburn, Whip is out to sea right now. xbigjoe, where did you buy your L?

Hey Xbigjoe, if you have been watchin this board, I can't for the life of me figure out why you wasted your money on a Down's Ford setup. NOBODY and I mean NOBODY has ever said a good word about their setup. Can't say about JDM's setup, but plenty of people are happy with his, PSP's setup, nothing but great raves about his workmanship, nuff said. On JL's setup, thats what I spent my money on, so anything I say would be , awwww nevermind. What Iam saying, "STICK WITH THE BIG THREE! See sig below
