I have been so tempted to do the same thing. Too bad I didn't keep my old suspension. Think the dealer would let me have both trucks so I could swap my suspension to the new one? lol.

Silver-Bolt ,Tell them that's part of the deal or it's a no go! they may consider it. What i would do is go to the dealer find a tech in his late 20's to early 30's and ask him what the chances of getting that done after hours. I was a tech and believe me these things happen! By the way a C note and a case of ice cold BUD get results! Give it a try Good Luck BL

Great. Just what I need is ideas and encouragement. I keep telling myself the 00 is fine, but when Ford is offering free money it's hard to pass up.

Well I called the dealer I bought my 00 from and they don't have any 01's left in stock. They are now doing a search to see if they can find me a silver (1st choice) or white (still easy to keep clean) 01. With the deal they offered I can basically drive an 01 for the same payment and same duration that I have left on my 00. They will also let me have both trucks for a weekend to switch my suspension to the new truck and put the 01 stuff on my 00 (wish now I would have kept my 00 suspension). So if they find one I guess I own a new L. Had not planned on doing it, but with free money it seems stupid not to.

Thumbs up

I did the trade. Swapped a 2000L for a 2001L. But I would ask for a little more from your 2000L.
There's NO reason for them to kill you that badly on the trade.
I got 25k for my 2000L and it had 22k miles.

Good luck and enjoy the low financing. I wasn't so lucky, bought 2 weeks to early. But still got a decent 6.75% for 60 months.

The deal is sweet if they find me one. I asked them about the X plan and that is no problem. They might be able to a little better than the X. They are being more than fair on my truck. Believe me if the numbers aren't right the deal won't happen. I am at 6% with 36 left now, and I will go to 0% for 36 for the same payment.

I will just have to spend a weekend de-moding the old truck and re-moding the new one. Or darn.

Wink

For me, it was about the $$ difference which ended up being 8k + 1700+ in tax or almost ten grand. 4k in equity from my 00 +4k out of pocket + 1700 in tax = no sale. I opted to put that money into my 00 instead.I have already beefed up the tranny 2k+..next comes the connecting rods and maybe the pistons, then comes a more powerful blower, repaint [black] were needed. All of this can be done for the 9700+.... not to mention the interest savings from 7.5% to 2.9%.If you add that in the trade difference was over 10K.
