Question Looking for info on a 99 L

Howdy hot rod truck guys. I am looking for info on the newest gen L's. We have a 99 L in our bodyshop that is in bad shape. It needs a complete bed. A new bed wont be available until first of next year, Ford wants to sell us a regular stepside bed and make it work. What is the differance between beds for the L's and regular F150's? We couldnt find a used bed locally ,im in Maryland. If you can help me out I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

I'm in MD also. There isn't any difference in the regular stepside and Lightning bed as far as I know.

Well

The normal stepside bed is what we have as far as I know. Don't forget the ground effects though. If my memory is correct there should be two pieces for each side.

The bed is exactly the same, you just need the ground effects, which you can scavenge from the original truck or order independently from ford...

Thanks for the info. We pulled the mangled bed off today. The truck isnt totaled thats for sure. Its mostly sheetmetal damage with the bedside and floor taking most of the impact. The truck slid sideways into a tree.
