Thats the truth, but I'm not sure I would say to much about it anywhere noel.

I used to work at a stereo shop and people that I know would come in with insurance claims. My boss used to give them a fake receipt and charge twice the amount, As long as the kid came back to get a new better strereo installed. That was wrong, but effective.

I have a hard time being nice to a insurance company when I know what they try and do to people. My dads friend is an insurance agent and this guys started off with very little and after 3 years he went out and bought a new 1.5 million dollar house with a 5 car garage and believe me there's a car in every garage. Now he's a nice guy, but come on something is screwy. Why do I say that, cause I know. I'm not going to say why, but it would **** off allot of you people on this site.

Inless your frineds with an insurance agent, Your getting screwed. So bend over and take it like an inmate!

Insurance is such a ripoff especially here in NJ. Highest car insurance in the country. I think they should call it IN CASE *****T instead of insurance. Because you only get anything from it in case *****t happens. And most of the time nothing happens and they just keep collecting your money getting richer.

Why have insurance at all? Because the law requires it? NO! Insurance is to cover a loss – not to get rich in the lawsuit lottery game. In most states you can get a liability insurance waiver from the state when you show you have enough cash on hand to cover any liability losses. It’s like gambling – you’re either risking your net worth or you’re are willing to pay an insurance company a fee to protect you. The rate will depend on many factors. In general, rates would be much more reasonable if there weren’t cheaters out there.

Life isn’t always fair, but if people would take responsibility for their actions and stand by their word, it would be a much better place.

Hurricane is right. Take reposibility for your actions. Starting with the insurance companys. If the paid off like they should on a legit claim there would be much less fraud. By the time they take off for the deductable and depreciation you are not left with much. When a car is totaled they pay wholesale for the claim. Never mind that the owner paid retail and cannot replace it for wholesale. Fair is fair. They will do you in a second. The less they pay out the more they make. If you are not doing the screwing you are getting screwed.

The deductible is a variable you choose when you buy insurance – it’s the amount you are WILLING to lose when you are harmed – it is the risk you are WILLING to accept – so accept it!. The rates vary based on this deductible amount. The higher the deductible, the lower the rate. Depreciation is just that – depreciation. It isn’t worth what you want it to be to the rest of the world – it just isn’t. I think your wholesale claim is also a misrepresentation of the facts.

I find this thread incredibly interesting. I had respect for many of you, but maybe that was not deserved. I hope you are all just pulling my leg – if not this Lightning world we live in is no different than the rest of the world. I would expect this kind of talk from CA, but not the rest of you.

My wheels were stock 2001 and Goodyear Eagle F1's with only 6646 miles on them(how much the truck has). Im just hopeing that the finger prints that the cops get off the jake that they left. Will match up with someone with a record. The cop even said it looked like who ever did it has done it before. If I do find out who did it they will pay and I dont mean money here. Im in San Antonio now and they were stolen in day light and with alot of people around. I dont have an alarm and I didn't have wheel looks, the ones off my old truck didn't fit thats why and I just haven't got some more. Now im going to get 5 diff. ones for each wheel and the most bad *** alarm I can find. Before I didn't think I needed an alarm but now I see that is is worth every pinny I can come up with. Anyone know of the best and I mean BEST alarm out there or a combo of alarms. Oh and my ground effects on one side is all ****ed up because they put one of the blocks under my drivers side door not on the frame. Ok I cant type about it much more im just getting more and more upset. Thx for all the reply's from everyone it shows that some people do care. The cops sure didn't. I think I will just keep my truck in Austin from now on.

I feel for you man. I had a ranger that was broken into when new and all they got was 10 cassette tapes. Just look your truck over REALLY good and point out any damages done to it. Especially look for scratches. Ins. has to pay for all that. Take care.

Hmmm I do like that Lightning spare idea. Which we should have stock. It would be cool to have 22's but I think poeple would like to steal them even more. Pluse don't they make our trucks slower. They sure would look clean on our L's though.

Did you know:

* Many Japanese golfers carry "hole-in-one" insurance, because it is traditional in Japan to share one's good luck by sending gifts to all your friends when you get an "ace." The price for what the Japanese term an "albatross" can often reach $10,000.

I wasn't trying to change the subject, really....

I see no chance at changing the mind of the "screw the insurance company" crowd here and have no interest in a debate with them.

My position....my own little philosiphy on this topic is:

The type of fraud that noelvm suggests is: dishonest, immoral, tacky, cheating, sleazy, wrong and geeze...I can't come up with a word bad enough.

Insurance companies are people (not some government agency), people own them, people work for them, people chose to buy products from them. There is competition and prices find the level where they belong. What kind of socialist political leanings do you have that makes you so anti-capitalistic, so anti-profit?

You are practicing risk management when you buy insurance....you are paying someone else to assume risk that you don't want to assume yourself. The idea that you should get all your money back if you don't make a claim is absurd.

Insurance is by nature risky, do you think the companies who insured the WTC are getting rich?

All this anti-corporate stuff tells me there are a lot more liberals on this board than I ever would have guessed. They probably don't even know that they are one either.
