Big Red, Sorry to hear about your misfortune.

To those other people who are just funnin' about fraud - wouldn't stealing from the insurance company be the same thing that was done to Big Red?

Respect and integrity - you either have it or you don't - there are no shades of gray.

Yeah, I suppose charging high prices is the same a fudging a claim, except of course:

One is legal and one is not.

We pay the high prices by choice and can go without the theft portion of the coverage if we think it is a bad deal.

OK, I guess theye aren't at all the same.

By submitting a false claim you are deciding that all of us should share in the cost of buying you a new wheel that you don't need. Include me out.

The insurance companies are the richest most powerful companies in the United States today. Current problems not withstanding.
They put the STOP on horsepower in 1970 by telling the car manufactures they would not insure high hp cars. They always make a profit. Screw the insurance companies whenever you can because you had better believe they are going to try to screw you.

Sorry to hear about that, I got all pissed with just a little scratch on my air damn so I would hate to see what I would be like if someone stole my rims and tires.

Do you have any type of alarm on the truck? I have a Viper on mine and was thinking if they got yours with a alarm on there then I better get the wheel locks to back up my alarm.

not true

i don't have a choice as far as coverage....if the vehicle is financed, than you have to have full coverage till it's paid off. And i'm sure all of us wouldn't mind paying for someone else's claim when they get ripped off if it's happened to you before and they wanted to put freakin spare tire rims on your truck cause you don't need fancy rims. Insurance is fraud period. If you don't put in a claim, you should get some money back every year....anyone ever hear the whole Chris Rock thing on "assurance"?

noelvm, I think I need to reassess the respect I had for you. On second thought, I just did.

Why don't you just forgo insurance and then you wouldn't feel the need to screw them. And don't go off on how it's required - law requires only liability insurance - to protect me from you.

i have to agree with others here (noevlm and tell..) screw the ins co whenever you can.
i think i've covered the cost of those rims many times over, having driven for 18 years and had a bad record most of those. never made a claim myself so it'd be nice if someone got all that high risk money i pay
insurance fraud= high rates because speeders have more accidents, never mind that i've driven 18 years without one, i'm still a speeder.
come to think of it fraud= insurance.

Hey Big Red,

Where in town were they stolen? Let me know if you want to borrow my spare for a temp. I'd be happy to loan it. I've been putting off buying wheel locks because I didn't think they were necessary. I'll be going to Maxwell Ford after work to place an order. Does anyone have the part# for an '01?

I say screw the insurance co. I had the stereo stolen out of my Lightning at the dealership some months ago. The Ford dealer nor his insurance co. didn't want to pay anything. I sued the dealer and won about a week ago. The lawyer for the insurance co. just called and said they won't appeal last weeks ruling if I settle for $2K instead of the full $2.4K the judge awarded me. I had $2.4K worth of stereo equipment they should pay me $2.4K. I'll probably settle because it's not worth the $.4K for me to have to sit in court and get mad. Make up the difference for me and get that spare replaced also!

When life gives you lemons, you make lemonaide.

Make the whole ordeal a positive experience....(read: Only screw the ins. co. as much as your conscience will allow. Just don't go overboard).

Sorry to hear about your wheels.Just went through the same thing. The good news is that your stock lightning wheels retail for about 471.00 a piece and good year retails the tires for about 400.00 and change so with some shopping around I got chrome lightning wheels for 300.00 a piece and tires for 200.00..Good luck
