Question Slow passenger window ........

My passenger window almost stops in the middle when in the down mode.
I sprayed dry lube on the tracks, it worked for about 20 mins, any ideas ?

My driver's window get hung up every so often. I spray silicone lube on the tracks with the straw provided with the can. Roll the glass all the way down and stick the straw down along the track as far as it will go.

Fritz -

Add me to the slow passenger side window list. Let's see if they try to void my warranty; I'm sure the chip, filter and headers caused the window motor to crap!

I dropped mine off this am... Forgot to pull the chip... So I pulled the chip and replaced the plastic cover in the Service drive...

The Taurus Im driving is way tooo small for me....

Ill let you know what they find.

They cannot associate the chip and window. However I didnt want them to find it "by accident" and document it for later

Doug,

Did you also reset the PCM ?

Didnt someone a while back say they could find out about the chip if it's pulled, and the PCM was not reset.

No Spiro - I didnt have the guts to pop the hood and disconnect the battery. THe service drive is lined with windows withall the service writers looking right at me...

For a window motor there should be NO reason to hook up the computer to diagnostics. I had Sals 4 way switch and a spare Superchip in the glove compartment. I just wanted things to look right .....

My Service writer is cool ... He knows I have the website and he knows I race... I just wanted to make his job easier...

Thumbs down

Yep, I have the same problem with my passenger window. It starts ok, then gets real slow, then finishes going down a little faster.

They just called and said they aligned the tracks on both sides and lubed them... If it works and I can get the details i will pass them along

Ok after testing the window works fine. I looked at the tracks myself, but looking at the number of window issues on this forum and others I bet the Ford guys know how to fix this in thier sleep

Talking

"Pulled chip in service drive." LOL I took my first place trophy from last Friday nite to my dealership this morning to show the boys while I was making an appointment to get my MERCON V changed in my tranny. (50K this is my second change so it has MERCON V in it because thats what we put in it last time). They loved the trophy! Remove mods, not at my dealership. Wish you had one like mine.

Don't forget to lube the top part of the channel all the way up to the top of the door. You may have to remove the door panel and check lower attachment points of side rails to make sure they are straight and tight. (my tech recommends Litium grease in the spray can)
