Talking JL gets me in the 12's on F-1's

wow! That's all I can say about JL and his products. Just back from Bowling Green, where ole Frank ran a new personal best of 12.85 @ 106.89 on F-1's. I continued to run 12.85 - 12.92 on 9 more passes over 3 days. Needless to say....I'm a happy camper......and I owe it all to Johnny Lightning and his great products.

I second that vote, Johnny Lightning is awesome. I just installed his #4 pulley and chip last friday afternoon. My truck ran 12.72@106.9 saturday on F1s. I too am VERY pleased, and I only had to wait 4 business days for my pulley which was not in stock at the time of my order. I had been waiting since July 1st on a different one

Check some of totaled's posts from the past day or so, he's pretty pleased as well I'm sure, 12.20s.

later,
chris

Frank,
Those were great times, especially for that track!
I'm really sorry I smashed your head.

What am I doing wrong???

I was just at Milan Dragway last friday night and the best I could do was a 13.52 @101.88 on my F-1's. Took my tire pressure down to 20 psi and my et's and my top end were worse.
I have a 2000 lightning with a 90 mm mass air, a K&N filter, diablo chip, a 3 lb lower pulley (which I thought was a 4 lb) and 410 gears. I was sure it would get into the 12's, but it was not to be. So, how about a little help.

Phatford, my 00 was able to run 12.79 108.97 at mid michigan with a chip,et streets and a pro m. [no pulleys]One of your problems is milan sucks lol ...also you might try losing some weight like the hitch, spare and front sway bar. My best at milan was 13.1 last year at the rt / lightning shootout.Milan doesn,t have the best traction, with f1s or et streets imho.

Getting into the 12's

I know that tires would help me alot. But I would like to keep the outside of my truck looking totally stock. That way when a cobra, camaro ss, or a ws6 firebird pulls up...........well, I just want them to cry real bad and I don't really want to be driving around with slicks on, cuz they'll know that somethings up. I like the sleeper mode, if you know what I mean.............Thanks for your reply

Thumbs up

Speeden Bob:

Ah...yes sir....Full Street trim, including ARE II with wing.

Then Johnny himself straps in, after a quick MT ET Street install, and launches a 12.79 @ 106.89, again with ARE II w/ wing. He thought that a mid 12.50 was there with a decent 60 ft. time. The best 60 ft was 1.92.

Phatford:

What was the air temp / humidity?

These trucks are very heat/humidity sensitive, to say the least. My runs were all at 60 - 70 deg F.
with 45% humidity.

You have enough "stuff" on, to be at, or near 12 secs. However, that seems to be a very elusive time. It has taken me 6 months of agony to reach the 12's. Weather has to be ideal, with all else working properly. Good Luck....You'll get there.

Great times

Johnny is the man and with his parts installed on my truck it rips off some great times also. Shooting for some 12.40s in about 2 weeks.
