ok black or silver? (taking a survey)
I'd go with black if you have it narrowed down to those 2 colors. For me it was simple because i had my pick....Red: ticket magnet for those that need attention. Black: always dirty and scratched. Silver: Just didnt do anything for me. White: always looks clean and Ive driven 2 white cars before this one and never get a second glance from a cop while blistering the speed limit.
i say SILVER too and the silver looks way better in person than pics make it look. you have to go see it in person if you havent already. its really a sharp color and it matches the wheels and interior and the clear lights look awesome on the silver. i like all the colors though. you have to go see a black 01 and a silver 01 parked together at a dealership and see what you like. if you dont mind cleaning every week or so and you dont mind fingerprints, then get the black. also, swirlmarks show up really bad on black in the sun, unless your really good with washing and waxing and buffing in straight lines, not circles, i guess thats why it happens but not 100% sure

. I've found a black & silver south of ATL GA. But I've also found a black N of ATL that will give me A-Plan for my X-Plan
. ($27,625 - Yes I've got a quote.) Just wish my finances said go ahead.
My advice, take them both for a test drive and see which one happens to be stronger. They're both supercharged on the inside. Good luck with your decision.

It's not so. He called back... strict guidlines... can't do it. $27889. Oh well, still beats MSRP.
I had the opposite experience of a few other previous posts. I went to buy a silver L & when I got to the dealer they had a silver & a black sitting side by side. At my age, "45", I didn't want to spend the hours I once did cleaning a vehicle, but the black simply appealed to me much more. I am very happy with my choice, but I would have been happy with silver too I suppose. The truth is, I keep all of my vehicles clean & the black hasn't been a problem. It isn't a daily driver & the black works out OK.
I'm going to have to join the concensus here...
We have a Black 2000 right now, and are about to get a 2002 in...
Silver! This is actually the color I wanted to begin with, just couldn't find one...
Black, when it is clean, is awesome! But, especially here in Arizona, it gets dusty within a mile of the carwash.
I went to the dealer the other day, and there was a privately owned Silver 2001 sitting in the parking lot, and all I can say is, it was gorgeous!
The silver is almost liquid like, rather then a light grey, and with chrome rims and the clear tailights, it was by far the best looking color combo (IMHO) in the line up.
Don't get me wrong, I love black too! My Bronco is black, my Cobra was black as well.
But like everyone else here has said, unless you have time to kill, keeping it clean, it is just a pain to keep it clean.
Once it rains, forget it. It looks like crap instantly...
