My 2000 Lightning has about 2,000 miles on it. I noticed recently that during part throttle acceleration it revs up slightly (slips) before going into (overdrive) fourth gear. It doesn't seem to do it when it's cold but once warmed up it will do it a few times every time I drive it. It doesn't do it in any other gear just fourth. If I lock out overdrive on the shifter handle it seems fine then too but of course overdrive isn't engaging either. My question is will one of your Valve Body Recalibration kits you sell through PSP correct this sloppy (slipping) fourth gear engagement or do you feel I need warranty dealer attention first before considering a kit? I e-mailed this same question to PSP about a month ago but never got a response. Could you please give me any insight or advice concerning this problem?

FYI: I do not have a performance chip and it's 100% stock. I've never raced it or really abused it much. Also I am looking for nice firm shifts but not too harsh on part throttle driving.

Thanks, Ron

revs up before going into 4th ? You were in 4th and it downshifted?, and then reved before 4th? normal.
you were in 3rd and it reved before going into 4th ? normal.
Maybe I am missing something here.

Well, mine does that too, I think it's the torque converter slipping a little bit, never bothered me enough to dig too deep into it. I imagine that a chip could remove it but I don't think it's hurting anything.

It sounds like you got it right. OK as long as it's not doing damage. I just never had a car that acted that way.
Thanks guys, Ron
