Am I crazy for thinking this

I'm going to throw on a JDM lower pulley soon, but i want more. So I was thinking about tossing in a mild (50-150) shot of NOS to top off my baby around 560-660hp when it's all finnished. BUT, many people say that even if i keep it at a light shot, the combo of the added PSI boost (est 13psi) and the heat of the NOS will kill my engine, or just severly reduce the life of it. I was planning on Up-grading my intercooler system to aid in the trucks life, but some people say that it's still just dumb to mix the two. I dont have tonnes of money and i will never be able to replace a whole engine. SO am i running a serious risk by doing both? Is there any safe way to run both?

Im a little concerned... or paranoid

It all depends on how fast you want to go? You can get into the mid 12's without Nitrous.

I would call Jim, he will answer all your questions.

Don't listen to Mark (NozeBleedSpeed), he's just old . If one power adder is good, why not two? Just install the spray so you can easily remove it for dealer visits.

Disclaimer: I have a history of severely taxing/obusing engines. If your crazy/reckless enough to listen to me, I want the first ride

Be carefull, even a 75 shot will hurt your motor. Will not get into many details about it yet, but soon I will let everybody know and show pics a L motor with 3 rods broke and an 6"by 4" hole in the side of the block.

Also today,
Warranty Inspector that showed up today says in the last month he has had 4 L motors that have all had brocken rods because of a piston skirt breaking. He told me that they all told him they had a piston slap problem first.

ok after talking to many people who know quite a bit... there will be no HP mods for a while. I am going to reinforce my engine until she's bullet proof and then go wild. So im going post another thread explaining more <stressing>

Huh? Since when does NOS add heat? I might be reading you wrong.

NOS cools the incoming air temp. charge which allows the motor to ingest tons of condensed air. You add extra fuel which in turn creates more power when mixed w/ the increased air charge.

This will increase heat in the combustion chamber, though. Maybe this is what you were talking about.

I run the 2# pulley with a 100 shot nos wet kit. I have never had any problems directly related to the nos but she does break down from time to time! As hard as I drive er though, that can be expected.
