Thank God clinton wasnt in when this happened. Bush will get them, rest assured. It's just a matter of time. Just pray that no other planes are up. I just heard that 2 were headed from Europe and are not responding. Hopefully the Air Force will shoot them down before they get here.

Our airport is also shutdown, schools are open, but I may not go to class, I woke every one I knew as soon as my mother called me. Beleive you me, I thought I was having a nightmare. Up untli the point when I turned on the tv and one of the towers was collapsing in front of me.

Our military bases are on a heightened level of alertness, and base personel were getting a fast police escort to the base. It sure does not feel good being in Alaska right now.

BTW, a couple days ago, local radio station reported they indeed have begun construction of the support buildings for our national missile defense system. This was a couple days ago. I am really glad Bush is in power.

 

Just found out that one of my fellow tuners and friends Byron Reynolds from RACE Systems, said his cousin was on the plane that hit the 2nd tower . My prayers go out to him and his family.

 

The economy isn't in the best of shape. It actually sux.

We have 50k who work in that building and over 150k travel through it on an average day. There were most likely people standing on the top of that building when the planes hit it. They were obviously on top of it and in all the stories down when they fell.

CBS showed EXTREME closeups (as in 2 to 3 blocks away) from the street level of the buildings falling and people jumping right before the plane hit the 2nd one. The closeup was literally unmatched in anything I've ever seen. Seeing a nuclear bomb go off on TV was about the same feeling of what this looked like.

Now, it seems from the close up footage on street level that just about everything in 2 blocks was leveled after those monsters crashed. Imagine, there were probably 20k MINIMUM to die, and possibly up to 100k!!! Those #'s are HUGE!

Taking all this tragedy into account, along with our horrible economy, what is this going to do further? Total Recession? War within the country, possibly a WW3?

Who is the insurance carriers of AA and United, and the one for the WTC? We're talking BILLIONS, as in tens of billions!

I truly believe that the world is becoming a better place, slowly but surely...but it's the evilness of things such as this to are keeping it from happening sooner!

For anyone interested I'll be keeping my Latest News thread updated with the latest news from our AP Newsfeed as my time allows this afternoon.

 

One of the two office I work at is next to what is left of the WTC towers. I ate lunch in them yesterday.... I can't believe they are gone. I was fortunate to be able to go into work late this morning, otherwise I may have been there.

So far, all my friends have checked in and all are safe, but my prayers go out to the familes of the estimated 10,000 people that have died.

It is unimaginable to look out the window of my house and not see the twin towers standing there.

Think, though. 50k work in just there. If only 1/2 was at work, and 1/2 got a way that's 12,500 dead. But it has to be higher, unfortunately. 1 to 2 blocks were nearly leveled it seems. I am saddly guessing 20k minimum.

Morgan Stanley Dean Whiter is GONE! They took up about 1/10 of the leased space in those buildings. Surely there is off-site data backup for all of those companies in WTC. This could be HORRIBLE HORRIBLE news for our frail economy.

The economy will be fine as long as folks don't panic when the markets reopen.

I work in the industry, and we are just standing by. All the major financial systems are fine, and yes they have multiple levels of offsite recovery plans.

 

As unfortunate as it is, war has always been good for industry. We blow up all that stuff, and it needs to be replaced. It's the slowdown afterwards, that always bad.

 

We had about 6 inbound flights after the airspace lockdown, I beleive all coming from overseas.

Until about an hour ago, all had been successfully contacted and diverted, except one. The concern for another building target is what caused the breif evacuation. One of our bases sent 2 F-17s or something to meet up with the plane and reestablish contact, and it was diverted.

I cannot beleive whats going on, as I heard on the radio, it is September 11, 2001, 9-11-01. 911.

 

Its times like this when I wish I had joined the military, to be able to defend and protect our great nation. You just feel so helpless watching all this on tv. Mixed emotions of shock, sorrow and anger... such a strange feeling.

God bless all who were involved and my prayers go out those people and their families. Truly, this is a life altering experience for many people. I know it is for me and Im all the way out in LA and can't even describe the feeling when I watched the second tower crumble, live, on the air.

On my ride to work everyday donw rt 17 in NJ i can see the towers. On my ride home from work this afternoon all i saw was a cloud of smoke no more towers. Sal my prayers go out to your friends famliy that was on the plane. Also someone who i work with at my job his wife worked in one of the towers and last he talked to her she was trying to get out i hope that she is alright.

I also pray that this bring us closer as a nation and reestablish patriotism! Maybe we won't have to worry about jerks on the delta or what ever for awhile but if any goood at all can come from such a tragedy, patriotism and unity are it.
