Rearend Housing rust??

MY rearend looks terrible, the cover and entire housing is completely covered with rust. I only have 8k miles and it has never been in any salt. I asked my dealership about it and they told me that there was very little paint out on them to allow for heat removal. That is bull. Does any one know a good paint that I could put on this that would adhere to it. I would wire brush it first and I would prefer something that I could use a small brush and brush it on.

What you could probably do is get some spray epoxy paint in black, tape off the area and just spray it. It would last a while.
On that new diff cover I got, now that I put the drop shackles back on the rear sway bar is hitting the frame...I guess I have to drill another hole.
