Stock fan going Bye Bye, some ????'s

im looking for the "cfm's" the stock fan delivers, im looking to put in an electric fan and want similar air flow. also would one single, say 16-18" fan be better than, say two 6". keeping in mind that i also have a 6" on my i/c heat exchanger and i dont want to over tax my ele. system..

I have a Flex a lite setup two 14" fans with a shroud about 5200 cfm. http://www.flex-a-lite.com/auto/Appl.../fulltruck.htm
I don't know what the factory fan pulled, but I haven't had any problems with this setup. Came with thermostat and switch.

BTW, Where did you get your 6" electric fan? I've been looking for them everywhere. I've got the ic pump wired to run with the ign. switch and ready to go.

Thanks for that link, I'm ordering today! Did you get the 6.5 inch or 5.6? push or pull? I'm thinking 2-6.5" ones and both pulling.

Cool

You can get the 6-7 inch 12 vt fans at motorcycle shops. this is the size used on the ones with radiators. Get one with L brackets, it makes mounting easier.

I've tried a couple of local motorcycle shops. Maybe I don't have that biker look, but they don't seem real interested in helping me out.

i got the 6.5 puller, but as the link will show there isnt much space left for the air to move the motor takes up much of the space in a 6.5 fan and im wondering if the pusher will move more air....

just a thought....

Question easterisland

I have a Flex a lite setup two 14" fans with a shroud about 5200 cfm. http://www.flex-a-lite.com/auto/App...e/fulltruck.htm
I am going to do this mod with the cobra water pump over the winter while the truck is in storage. I was wondering how you mounted the fans (horizontally or diagonally). Since it is a cross flow rad on the lightning, wouldn't it be better to mount them diagonally.

I have a shroud the fans sit back about 1-2 inches from the radiator. I would think if you mounted the fans w/o a shroud and directly up to the radiator then a diagonal mount would work better but look off.
this is my setup

this is just the fans- someone elses
