Nice run Johnny! You are about 15 degrees in air temp or 100 lbs. from being in the 11's.

Does the track that you race at enforce the NHRA rules heavily? If you and a regular set of slicks, with a softer rubber compound it would definetely improve that 60 ft. time. The ET Streets need to have a harder compound to meet DOT specs.

Man what a tuner and what a truck! Outstandin'!!!

Question: If you run 11s up north, you have to install a cage--right? I was told Fri. nite (while runnin' at Silver Dollar--remember when you were here?) that if--no, when I get to a 12, I've got to have a cage??? The guy said it was a NHRA rule??? Could this track have their own 'rules'?

Jay: Yes that's correct but the problem is i don't know of any company making a true slick with a softer compund in the 16" I don't want to go to the 15" rims because i want to beable to run 11's with just the easy bolt ons the avereage guy will do. i still have never been inside the engine never touched a bolt on the engine either. just bolt ons i sell are on the truck! even still have the same leaky intercooler

Dan: Are you the guy with the big Cigar? LOL! i believe unless the track has its own rules. you don't need a roll bar until you hit 11's! just a driveshaft loop if your in the 12's with slicks!

O speedy: As usaual you got me smiling! JL

Test and Tune is every other Wed. night, but I don't believe for much longer. Gates will open at 5pm.

JL, I have had exactly the same kind of shifting problem that you describe ever since I put an aftermarket torque converter in my truck. It just blows by the 5500 rpm shift point and buries the tach at 6000. Then it activates the boost cut off and the truck doesn't go anywhere. I don't know how you can be running such great times unless you have disconnected the boost cut off. Sal seems to think that the problem lies with the discrepancy between turbing shaft speed and mph. https://www.f150online.com/forums/sh...threadid=48701 I assume that since you have the Precision Industries converter in your truck that the cause must be the same. Neither the Swanson chip or the JDM chip can solve this problem, although Sal thinks he may have a program that will. Evidently the Diablo chip is confused, too. I am sure interested in hearing from others with this shift problem, and whether they are able to cure it with a chip.
