Jl Pulley

AS many as you know i do have a larger lower pulley on my truck along with the smaller upper! If anybody is going to grenade a blower then i want it to be me! NOT my customers therefore i'm putting this Eaton to the test! i'm currently making between 14-15# of boost! yes i do have the JL powercooler to help in the heat department.. however ive found when we make the neccasary adjustments to the program the truck continues to respond tremendously! we ran several 111 mph in the 95*+ heat so far. this was never even thought possible before. with no NO2 of course! i am getting ready to release the larger lower pulley that makes a TRUE 4 # of boost to those who are thinking of installing the smaller upper pulley. they can get 4# with just putting the lower pulley on and not mess with the blower itself. so far since ive released the new JL pulley ive got nothing but Great results from my customers! Just about everyone that has installed the lower pulley my chip and airkit. is running 12.7's-9's on street tires! with horrible 60 ft. times! there's no doubt when we increase boost pressure we increase the air temps! but so far with the good results ive been seeing i don't believe we reached that point yet! so it comes down to this. if your comfortable running my lower pulley then by all means buy it! if you don't feel comfortable running my lower pulley then by all means consider the other pullies that are available. after all thats what it comes down to! Its your truck you do what you want! and enjoy yourself doing it! no matter who's pulley you run! JL

Also i might add ive had this same set up on 2 other JL Test trucks with no problems! All of these trucks have the LARGER 4# lowerpulley and the 1.5# upper pulley! JL

Johnny, has anyone had a blower off to see if there is any rotor deflection or contact? If not, I looks like these Eaton blowers may be underrated?

I know that without the powercooler, the net difference would much less for the additional boost. Way to go!

Yes ive seen the blower rotors and never seen any places where any contact has taken place. Yea i think i agree about the under rated. Really what do we expect them to say! Oh yea go ahead and add a 10 " pulley and spin it twice as fast it won't hurt anything! We must take into consideration these vehicles are without adoubt AWSOME! from the factory. If we want to "modify" these already AWSOME! machines then we must realize that we are taken a risk. We can't expect ford and eaton to tell everyone these blower are under rated and these engines can handle 200 more h.p. with no problems. Thier just doing what thier suppose to do. engineer and produce an AWSOME Truck! which has a 3 yr warranty to back it up! No doubt they knew this was going to be a challange, because when we start off with something this AWSOME, we just can't leave well enough alone! thats just the way it is! So on and on we go looking for more ways to improve on these already AWSOME machines! " If you play then sometimes we Pay! JL

JL,
Your making 15 lbs. of boost?? Why not free up that exhaust a little in search for more power??

Way to go with an even bigger pulley! I've had your lower pulley on my daily driver for about 2K miles and marks upper pulley for about 4K miles. I drive it hard, it is hot out here and have NO PROBLEMS! I'm going faster now than I have before! Try that with a smaller pulley.

Spiro; Your right i'm doing some exhaust testing with the bassani kit. i did pick up 1 1/2 mph and .050 with the x pipe and mufflers. i'll be testing the cat set up shortly then i'll do the headers.. i believe i ran a 12.56 @ 111.2 with a 1.95 60 ft. i was getting 1.72's @ cecil a few days before with a different set up and i was running 12.38's @ 109.8 i believe if i could have gotten my 1.72's back @ atco i would have ran 12.1's maybe a 12.0 i'll be testing @ cecil tommorow sat. around 4:00 I have a different program i'm playing with right now. looks like we might get some nice air! Hey johnny what do you think about me tightning down the blower so it doesn't slip anymore with my custom belt tensionoir. Can these blower handle that kind of TRQ. When I ride around on the street its looser, about stock tension. But I did test it with that belt tighter then I could even imagine and the boost just was crazy how fast it was there and how fast the truck responded to it. I know its not good to ride around like this all the time, but at the track I should be ok right! Plus if I'm going to spray a 50 shot to cool everything down, or a 100 shot.

I just bought an upper pulley setup, so We'll see. I got the interchangable ones so I can switch it out at the track. I might want to get a lower 4 pounder too! Let me know how that works out and it the trucks can handle it. I would be willing to be the test mule truck. HEHEEHEHEHE maybe a 5 pounder on the bottom with the upper 2 pounder. WEEEEEEEEEEE
