Cool NEW: Ladder Bar Setup

Yep, that's right...Ladder Bars .

I'm almost done with a prototype set of ladder bars for my '00 L. They'll be on for testing by mid-September. I'm not going to give the specifics until they're done, tested, and proven performers. I will say that they consist of the two "Ladder bars," a diagonal link, and housing floaters (which I'm still working on).

In late September I would like to put a test set on one of the faster L's on the board (I'm not that fast yet)...one w/ an aftermarket converter. I'm trying to develop a total suspension package that can cut 1.4xx '60's in the quiker L's. I'm located in North Florida, so if anyone is interested, I may be able to set something up for testing...this will be LATE sept., though.

I'll have pics posted in sept., along w/ track results.

Is anyone interested in a ladder bar setup for an L? Keep in mind, this is NOT a proven set up yet, but once I get the details straightened out, y'all will be the first to know

Smile You're Probably Going To Laugh At This...

You guys are too young to really appreciate this but when I built my first sports car from scratch it was just 1,900 lbs. and I couldn't keep the rear end on the ground long enough to get traction. If I was trying to stop or launch it the rear springs would "wrap-up" and cause wheel hop. But, I was only 19 then
and there weren't any "Ladder Bars" to go out and buy.

So, my Dad said to go to a large diesel truck yard and try to get two truck rods out of an old diesel engine. I was able to find two rods that would fit around my rear axle almost perfectly when
the bolts were tightened. Then, I found a steel bolt that would fit through the upper end of the rod and welded it to the frame.

It worked like a dream! I couldn't much more than make the rear wheels "squak" once and I was moving with all the traction in the world. In fact, with a small block V8, I was able to do zero to 60 in 4.2 seconds. Even by today's standards, there are very few vehicles that can match or beat that speed. And I built this Devin- bodied car back in 1960.

I would definetly like to try and get something like this for my truck. I was going to have TRZ racing make me a ladder bar setup for my truck, but I just haven't gotten around to it, and tommys kinda big bucks $$$$.

I soon hope to have an aftermarket coverter in my truck, so I could try them out for you, HEHEHEHEHE.

My truck is lowered, so keep that in mind.
