Anyone have any recommendations for a good shop to take the L to for a lower pulley and shift kit install in or near the Orange County area? I have all the parts now except the 4x4 pan and was hoping to get this done sometime before next weekend.
Thanks,
Mike

I'm not sure of any shops in Orange County, but Danny Swanson's shop in Torrance (below LAX) might do it for you.
Just my opinion, but the mods you listed are very straightforward, and I'm not a mechanic by any means but I had no problems with installing the shift kit and lower pulley.

I do most of my own mods. The shift kit isn't difficult, just messy.
I haven't installed my lower pulley yet, as I have been busy rehabbing an 85 El Camino for my daughter to drive back and forth to school.
It really isn't difficult if you have some tools. I don't know if Danny Swanson does transmission work, but I'll bet he'll put the blower pulley on for you. You might as well make a few dyno runs while you are there.

Installed my JL 3# pulley today and you were right, its not that difficult an install. Little less than 1 1/2 hours to do the pulley and the driveshaft loop. That breaker bar is key though (and a cheater bar on top of that is even better!!) Now I just have to get my chip reburned due to a little pinging... nothing JL can't fix!
Even taking it easy I can still tell there is a BIG gain from the pulley - can't wait to really get on it! Anyone know of a place to buy race gas around the Huntington Beach area?
