What to clean seats with??
What to clean seats with??
Can someone please help???
I've done several searches in both the lightning and Interrior forums, but haven't found anything.
I took my truck to get inspected today and when I got home I noticed that the guy got a small spot of grease on my sued!!! I would go back and complain, but this particular shop happens to be "inspection friendly."
Any advice would help,
Thanks!

i know this sounds crazy but....
I have two ideas. I know that either one will work great, but they sound a little crazy if you've never tried them.
first is this, use a can of brake cleaner spray, spray some on a clean white cloth and then simply blot rub/blot (using only light pressure) the stain out. I guarantee that it will come right up. Better yet the brake clean product is designed to dry VERY quickly, so you won't have a wet spot on (or worse, a soapy spot) on your seat.
second of all is a similar product called "acrysol" (sp?) or 3m makes one in a red and white can called adhesive cleaner/remover, anyway, they are similar fast drying products that will bring the oil right off of your fabric.
hope this helps,
good luck.

For grease and ink marks on the suede-like cloth (DON'T USE ON THE BLACK LEATHER) I know for a fact that brake cleaner works like a charm like superfords said. I had an inkpen in my rear pocket without a lid that put a nice 3" mark on the lumbar bolster and I was sick about it. But, it came out without fading or staining thanks to the brake cleaner. Another good one is wax and grease remover used on car bodies before the paintjobs. It dries fast too and works the same as brake cleaner. I haven't tried the Blue Coral stuff yet and I imagine it would be great for cleanup too since TampaSVT swears by it.

The Blue Coral, what type of cleaner is it? Upholstery cleaner, or carpet cleaner?
Just wondering, cause I too had a dreaded ink stain, and wound having to pay $150.00 to have that section of the seat reupholstered.
Would be nice to know about some $3.00 cleaner for the future...!
Thanks!

The Blue Coral Upholstery cleaner is very gentle so I don't know if it will take out ink.
Doesn't discolor the interior like some cleaners might.
I wouldn't even try the carpet cleaner....
