Help needed to hard wire radar detector

Would like to hard wire radar detector into the overhead console, but do not know how to remove it.......

Has anyone on the board removed the overhead console and or hardwired the radar detector at that location......

Thank you for your help

This is how I wired mine. remove phillips screw in front part of console. open the back compartment(where garage door opener goes. There is a clip on each side. press these clips in and the console should come down. here is a picture of how I wired mine.

seniorchief - did you get your detector in? Mine arrives UPS today.

I remember a thread a while back (withing the past year) that had a really nice how-to description of this process, with pictures. I'll try to search again, now that the search function is back up...

Talking I wired mine (EASY)

Remove the screw in the front of the consol and pull down gently there are two clips toward the back that will let go. Splice the center wire of the cigarette lighter connector wire to the white wire with light blue stripe------splice the ground wire of the cigarette lighter wire to the black wire with light blue stripe.

I mounted my radar detector lower on the windhield just above the wiper blade. I then ran the wire in the gap between the windshield and the dash, then wired it into the fuse box.

I will take a pic of it and post it monday.
