Question ? For Those Who Run Slicks

Hey guys i got a question for those of you who run slicks. Ok i got all the go fast goodies on my 00 lightning. I got the Airraid with the 10" Big Mouth Filter, Single Blade TB, PSP Lower Pulley, PSP Valve Bodie Mod, PSP 2 Program Chip street and strip, Bassani Cat Back System, and soon to have PSP FAST Air System. Now after talking with Sal we figured out that with all those goodies that my truck should be somewhere at 450 Hp at the engine and like 390 at the rearwheels. Now with that HP i should be able to run like high 12's on stock tires at stock weight. The last time i ran the truck was at JDM's Lightning day and out of 4 runs the best that i did was a 14.03 now that was just with the Airriad with the small K and N filter and anyone that was there that day knows that the conditions were s**t and the track was s**t because oil got blown on the track to. So i was interested in getting a set of slicks because i think with my mods ,a set of slicks ,and with good air i should be able to run like mid 12's. So to my question anyone running slicks what kind are you running and what rims do you run them on ? Also what do you use to change them at the track just a jack and a 4 way? And one more question what was the cost of the slicks and rim setup your running and where did you get them from.
Thanks
Vin

When I first started to race my L I just bought the american racing steel wheels in black. 16x8's. they work great but there kinda heavy for me now since I started to get real serious and I'm trying to gain as much of an advantage as possible.

Pretty much any 16 inch wheel made for an F150 will work on our trucks. I just wouldn't get anything smaller then 16x8's.

I just spoke with johhny about getting a set of rims like his so I could have front runners also (chrome 20's are really heavy). He gave me a really good price on the set, so you might want to check with him. I really like the weld pro star XP's though, so I'll thik I'll wait to get enough cash for those bad boys, I got an image to represent, HAHAHAHAHA.

As for the tires, you have two choices that are out there.

mickey thompson 16x10.5x26 E.T. Streets or 16x11.5x26 E.T. Streets. Go with the 11.5's they work better!

Mickey Thompson ET Streets--26x11.5x16" and American Racing(ARE) Baja wheels---16x10". Bot locally. This combo. is very light compared to our stock tires and wheels.

I've started running M/T et streets 26x11.5x16. No tubes. I bought extreme alloys 16x10 wheels. They look like the M/T classic wheels, but were only $110 each. I don't know if they are heavier than the American Racing wheels. bolt pattern is 5x135mm. I usually air down to about 16-17 psi. I have been launching at around 1200-1300 rpm, anymore rpm and they will spin. My 60ft. average 1.85 to 1.95 depending on track conditions.
