Bucket seat mod

Who is it that had the mod done with buckets and the Expy console?

Was the passenger side 60% cut and redone as a bucket or was another driver side bought and set up as the passenger bucket?
Was a new console purchased from the parts dept or from a junk yard?

I think that was a coooool mod.

Just can't remember seeing how it was accomplished.

Can someone refresherate my memory?

I've got pictures of this mod on the modifications page on my web site. (link below) The parts requred are listed on there as well. Drivers side seat won't do the trick for this. You will need to have the seat cushion and cover redone. The back of the passenger seat will fit right on to the new lower seat frame.

I bought a "take out" console. You can buy a new one but Ford only sells it as parts and not a complete console. It's a pain trying to figure out all the parts required and it gets pretty expensive. I've got the complete parts list around here somewhere.

It's a great mod, good luck.

Expedition. '97-'99 are narrow ( small armrest ) and '00 - up are
wider ( big armrest ). There is no drilling involved because F-150's and Expy's share the same front floor pan. That means once you remove the carpet you will find the necessary holes to bolt the brackets to.

******,
Was it difficult finding an upholstery man who could do what you needed?
Was he able to use all the material you had on the pass. seat or did you have to order more from Ford?
Did you simply order another drivers seat frame for the floor?
I've seen all of your pics but I'm trying to fit the install needs to the pics.

Of all the appearance mods I think that bucket conversion of yours is the coolest.

I wouldn't want to tackle it though without enough info to do it right.

Alot of questions here but your help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Question

Lowner

I have the seat base and the lever arm that I bought but didn't use in the conversion. The third piece is that bracket that bolts the seat base to the floor. I will sell at the cost I paid plus shipping. If you are interested, e-mail me at terpeg@mindspring.com.

Lowner,

Thanks for the complement. I was just one of the first to do this mod nad I started bookmarking every link and picture that I could find. I guess that's the engineer in me!
