Sport truck(lightning Vs. the World)
In the current issue of Sport truck they have the lightning going against a viper ,camaro ss,cobra. They said they came on our little web page here to get volunteers to run against them. they picked someone running 12.91 which is very respectable, but WHERE WERE ALL THE BIG BOYS!! the viper ran 12.86 where were you Johnny Lightning with your 12.06?? What a spanking that would have been!!! They let stock and tweaked Lightnings run,I guess to show how easy it was to make the truck into a bigger monster than it is.needless to say the ss ran 14.? and so did the cobra.Maybe we can set up a re.match.It is supposed to be on Speedvision soon.
Like all runs, JJ’s 12.06 may be more like a 12.6 depending on the weather conditions?
I'm not trying to slam anyone’s past runs, but you really never see a good run posted in the summer time, so a 12.9 might actually be a really hard running truck, who knows?

This was a a West Coast deal, by invitation. The truck thet ran 12.91 was basically a street truck with with street tires, hitch, spare and bed cover. The uncorrected altitude that day was 5860' above sea level. No track prep. These times listed, were corrected for altitude only (2700'). That left us running on a 94 degree day.
The corrected altitude was 3200' above sea level. Like humid days, the only way to make these trucks run that hard is with nitrous. Those runs that Mike and Lynn made were pretty good considering.

Jay, I actually remember taking a look at the temp. guage that day, it got up to 103 at one time. It was damn hot. Hit almost 90 at 8 am.. And me, the stock truck, I was supposed to be testing out Kenne Bells stuff, but he wasn't ready in time. Hopefully, they'll pick my truck up and go work on it for another photo shoot when he is ready, (and RE-write the part where it says that it was my first time, even though it was ANOTHER driver saying that

Read the article and wanted to congratulate everyone that participated... Good time for the altitude and temps... I saw a Viper run at GLD last sunday and the best he could do was 13.20... Just wanted to say that if the temps. were in the 70's and the altitude was just right that L running the 150 shot would be running in the 11's...

Marcus, Danny has chips for the 2001 trucks now. You should call him.
As I recall, I was the only truck there thathad a chip in it. Mike's may have, but I don't hearing Lynn mention anything about it.
These trucks were basically stock except the nitrous systems.
Did it hit 103? All I know was it was really hot that day. Didn't you get sunburned?
See you tomorrow.

I had an insane sunburn for too long. Those sunglasses I was wearing all day left their mark. I had "Racoon Eyes" for 3 weeks. Jay, will Danny tune the chips the way I want it? (i.e. I heard his chips were less agressive than JDM's, PSP's, or JL's) I'm all for keeping it on the safe side, but would like as much power as possible while doing it.
Marcus,
I'm pretty sure Danny will tune it anyway you want. I know that the 91 octane has affected my truck, so that it now pings at the top of each gear. Since 92 is no longer available in CA, I am going to have Danny reburn my chip. I will be receiving a lower pulley in a few days, and I am going to have him dyno and tune for both.
