I was over at moparchat.com and ran across this thread. They are making some BIG comments over there and one guy wants to race a Gen III<-----I think he can beat it(duh), I wonder if he know there is NO Gen IIIs!!!! Give them some *****, I gave them a little!!!!

Dont worry about it guys, there are some people who should just stay away from vehicles that have anything to do with performance cuz they are just clueless, obviously there aint no Gen III, leave the poor fella alone, just imagine the embarassment he goes through when he tells people to there face that he wants to race a Gen III L, same with the guys who say that their stock R/Ts can beat Gen II's, we know it aint happenin..i know my place, I own a R/T, shes runnin 13.8, shes gettin there slowly but surely..take care guys..

actually, i dont whats seein stars about a 13.8 no blower no NOS, but yeah, i didnt say anything about hemi's, but since we're on the topic, they have passed it through that they will pull the 5.7L hemi in the R/T's in 2003, so we'll see what will happen

 

I looked up R/T in the dictionary and the definition was

SLOW

 

I just don't get those R/T boys?

I've raced an older 94? Viper from 40 to 70 and stayed right there with only a chip and filter, he even had an exhaust, maybe that hurt him and helped me? Anyway why do you never see them post against older Vipers vs. R/T's kills?

These guys are sort of trailer park racers at best.

I've heard all their excuses and I'm sure that there are 3 or 4 really quick R/T guys out there, but I've also seen 400 - 500 HP new VW bugs.

Take that to the bank, it only takes money to go faster than the rest.

 

well i thought i would be nice and not be like the rest of the R/T guys and say how R/Ts are better than Ls, and how L's are better than R/Ts, but i guess that dont work, cuz if you guys dont think 13.8 aint bad for a R/T N/A than you guys are crazy, alota Ls cant even run a 13.8, no excuses, i get my blower in 2 months i'll be runnin 12s easily, i guess you wont "understand those R/T guys" then either huh, when i pull up next to one of you L guys and give you a run for your money, and theres alot more than 3 or 4 fast R/ts, i know at leats 5 guys than are runnin 13s or better

 

Maybe I read it wrong, but to me, CN's first post didn't seem to be the least be inflammatory or antagonizing. In fact, I'd even go so far as to say that he was pre-apologizing for all of the other R/T owners that are misled.

And in my book, I don't see anything wrong with running a 13.8 in a naturally aspirated truck (...you did mean the 1/4 though, right??? jk). On the other hand, I don't see anything spectacular about running a 13.8...as in I wouldn't go saying on any other board beside "my own" that I know at least 5 people running 13's or better (because well, its not that spectacular- but you realize that. Hell, my best time when I was stock (...I mean I still am...) was only a 13.81 @ 99.8...and thats in a supercharged vehicle. granted it was stock, but still.

And on a final note, I'd have to agree that Speedin Bob is right up there with all the best pics at just the right time. Anyways, back to work. later...

r/t turning 13.8 has to have some serious mods. I kno r/t's that are turning that running blowers..

 

Thank you MXRacer, I am just like you guys, I like fast cars and I like trucks, so I bought a R/T, maybe not fast to you, but hey, i'm only 19, so I cant really afford a Viper or Vette, the only reason I said I run a 13.8 is because most L guys talk about how R/T's a garbage and how slow they are and what not and i'm sure 99% of you believe that, and I would to if i was a whole second or more faster in the 1/4 than what is the next fastest truck in production..anyway, i'm sure you've heard enough for me..and my mods are .512 lift cam, R/T heads, MP computer, M1 intake manifold, 54 mm TB, programmable interface computer, and air intake and MP headers
