Race? Who said anything about a race. You will sacrifice him to the Lightning gods.

If he would add a 100shot of NOS and some slicks it would be a good race. You should beat him bad..very bad!! Those thing are pigs..probably runs mid 15s.

I have a 99 GMC sierra 4x4 5.3 Liter. It had throttle body spacer, K&N filter charger system, hypertech power programmer, dual exhaust. It had big 33" tires and 4" suspension lift. 3.73 gears. It did well against other trucks and maybe even a slowkota R/T. It is nowhere close to a stock Lightning. That is a 4x4 so I would guess that the 2wd is a little faster and the 00's have about 15 hp more than the 99's. I would go tell him to find a slowkota R/T.

A while back I bumped into a guy with a Chevy pickup. He was a ways behind me and tried to catch up and eventialy did. I let him get up next to me and mashed it, he did not keep up. We pull up to a red light and ask me how I liked my truck, I said it runs great. He said he had completely opened up his motor, heads, cam exhuaust ect. and got 340 hp out of his mods. He also admitted he could not keep up with the supercharged Lightning out of the hole. We started to go and as we rolled along we both nailed it, he could not keep up with the L from a roll either. Your buddy is toast!

After seeing all the Lightnings run at VMP (F150 Online Rally) I can't imagine there are many trucks (or cars for that matter) that can compete. Mods or not, unless it's a blower.
I ran at the same time as one of them. Damn he was fast!
Give that Chevy guy a dose of reality!
Tom

Local F150 Club???

BfB,

I'm over here in Gulfport, and was wondering if there is an F150 Club, or group that meets in Mobile?
If so, can you blast me an e-mail with the next meet time/date. You can get my address, thru my profile...

Thanks

If it makes ya feel any better, I was looking at the latest issue of GM HIGHTECH magazine and they had put headers, mufflers, chip, and a whipple supercharger on a 00 short wide chevy with the 5.3(I think thats the right numbers on the eng.) and his best time was a 13.5 @ 102. A blower will generally take 2 seconds off your 1/4 times,so you can figure at BEST with the mods he's done, he'd run 15.5's
You will rape him.......BAD! He will lick his wounds for a while but he'll be ok.
