Installed the new JL pulley on Sat. and ran an event at Cecil County Dragway that night. My times are consistantly 2 tenths better now over my old pulley. It was 92 degree's 90% humidity and I was running a 12.6 at 108mph all night long. With those temps my times were going up to around 12.78-12.8 at 105mph. Definite increase in power!

By the way, for those of you asking about street drivablility. I tested the pulley with 93 octane on my street chip and there was no pinging and the truck ran the boost gauge in the black with no drop in pressure during shifts.

I'm installing the ASP upper with JL's lower, so I'm sure you will be fine with just the lower.

I was also testing the new setup @ cecil the temps were in the 90's humidity was in the high 90's bp was around 28-29i was hoping to run a 12.50 i ran consistently 12.30's all day.. i was @ full weight with my 130# bed cover on too..So needless to say i was very impressed with the results! i'll have to agree with eric it was worth atleast .2-2.5.. which was more than what i expected! (here's another picture of them arriving into the shop) JL

I was at Cecil on saturday as well, and I cannot believe how good JL and Eric were running... Especially considering the temps. If the weather had been better (like a nice cool fall night), I would guess JL would have seen high 11's...

JL: Thanks for brining those parts to the track for me... So far so good!

Hey John,
Have you done much testing before this or is this the first testing you have done with it. I am just curious if that would overspin the blower or if it would be ok. How many trucks have this pulley on them and any problems with it?

Any other info you have would be great.

Thanks
Paul

were just now shipping the pullies out. however i already had the upper pulley and the psp lower pulley on my truck for a long time with no ill effects! as far as overspinning the blower in my opinion as long as i'm still making more power then i believe it hasn't gone past the effeciency rate.. i saw a significant increase in power. i also checked the air fuel ratio and it leaned the truck down 1/2 a point.. i thought it would have leaned it down more but it didn't. i plan to keep both upper and lower on my truck however i'm not telling everyone that would be safe because in all honesty i don't know! but what i do know is that i need just a little more POWER! John,
Just talked with you on the phone and ordered the pulley. You told me about the leaning out and I had a question, I thought others might benefit from.

I have the psp 4 way chip and when I ordered it I also ordered their pulley and so I wanted it setup for that. I have not received their pulley, but the chip is doing great. I did the bassani exhaust a few weeks ago and I noticed that my tips are still getting a little black, not near like when stock, but a little carbon build up. Do you think in my situation that it would be ok, or do you think it will lean out the engine to much? I do not plan on adding another pulley to the top, so I think it will be fine.

What are your thoughts or anyone elses.

Thanks
Paul

Like i said when i installed the pulley it leaned me down 1/2 a point. you should ask your tuner if you would need a reburn for the extra boost.....

JL - so if it only leaned out 1/2 a point, would those of us with no chips need to get a chip, or would a chip just help us take more advantage of it?

Let me rephrase what i said the new pulley leaned me down 1/2 point from my current program i'm running. no doubt the 3# of boost will lean us down dramatically. i do highly reccomend you run a chip with a program to support the 3# of boost.. as far as running the pulley without a chip i really don't know for sure i do know on the 99-00 the air fuels were in the 10.9 range the new 01's are much leaner. i might have a 01 here @ the shop i'll check the A/F before and after the pulley install without a chip and post the findings.....JL

JL - I am also interested in the results as I have one of your pulleys on order for an 01 and no chip ordered yet.

ttt

I'm still really interested in seeing some dyno numbers on this one, and also any figures for the size vs blower RPM. Anybody have any ideas?

It looks like a great product and I'm seriously considering getting one, but just curious about any specifics.

DB and all,

Shoot me an email and I'll forward along an Excel worksheet so you can input the pulley diameters and shift points to see how fast your supercharger at max engine RPM.

if you opt to do it yourself, the formula is as follows:

Lower pulley diameter / Upper pulley diameter = RPM Factor

RPM Factor * Shift point RPM = Blower RPM at shift point

Dyno Numbers I Don't Have...Time Slips I do! For me to run 12.38 @ nearly 109 in 90+ Temps tells me this baby is working!and i did it about 4 times. As far as overspinning the blower Well Your guess is as good as mine. i'm running both the lower and the top! I do offer my chip with lower shift points for those who may be concerned..... JL
