Lower pulley torque value?
Lower pulley torque value?
Does anyone know what the torque amount is on the lower stock blower pulley bolt. It's the allen bolt that holds the pulley/cage to the crank. Thanks Jeff
According to my Ford Manual, it's a four step process. This indicates a torque to yield bolt. Are you using a new bolt?
My Ford manual says the following for the crankshaft pulley.
Step 1: torque to 66 lbs.
Step 2: Loosen 360 degrees
Step 3: Torque to 35-39 lbs
Step 4: tighten another 85-90 degrees
It also says under the Lightning section "tighten auxillary crankshaft pulley to 75 lbs".
It doesn't specifically call the aux. pulley the blower drive pulley.
I believe you must follow the first proceedure if you remove the large center bolt that holds the pulley(s) on the crank.
Hope this helps.
