Whats up with the ceramic brakes????

Does napa really make these to fit the L's or what. I called up and asked about the f250 brakes and they said no, but somebody on the board has them.

I think they are ceramic impregnated pads, not true ceramic brakes. A complete ceramic pad and rotor setup would make the Brembo's look cheap in price.

Yes they are a direct replacement for the 00L,and i assume they would fit the 99,01 but do not know for certain. A lot less brake dust,no squeeling and more stopping power are what you end up with. I paid 55.00 but got them at muffler shop cost so expect to pay more.I would pay 100.00 just for the decrease in brake dust alone. Lightningrod has the part # i was given cmx7576 right.

Yep... they have replaced the steel fibers found in conventional pads, with ceramic fibers.

Pretty cool stuff: http://members.aol.com/carleyware/library/ceramic.htm

I wonder if these pads would be a good idea if your dragracing your truck and doing lots of burnouts. Seems they might cause excessive wear on the rear rotors. maybe just put em on the fronts only.

I put Ceramix Brake Pads on myF150 Lariat in spring at the cost $101.00 just for the Disc Brake Pads.I love them no dust to speak of either. No wear on the rotors too.

Wink

Noel, they only have them for the front.Be careful when tapping the brakes at the end of the strip while using drag radials with these pads until you get used to them. They will wear out your rotors faster i'm told, but only the front ones at this time.

Napa quoted me $89.99 before tax. Dude said they would stop squealing noises brake better and cut way down onb the dust. My Ford contact said Ford does't make these.

Our brakes are the same as the Expedition. That is how I found my Porterfield Kevlar Pads.

Are these a NAPA product or does other companies make these. My uncle owns a bumper to bumper auto shop and he would get me a good price on them, if he could get them.

Are they called "ceramix"

oh yeah, the NAPA guy buy me said $88 bucks too! ouch, but the dust is worth it!
