X plan is a special pricing plan that is offered to certain organizations, and friends/family of Ford employees. You will save a lot of money if you can find a dealer that will except it on a lightning. Make sure to call the dealer to see if they will.

The easiest way to obtain an X-plan pin # is to join the EAA (http://www.eaa.org). Cost is $40, but if you are seriously looking to purchase an L and have found a dealer that will except X-Plan, this is truly the way to go....

Good luck!

Thumbs down

Well, if I were a free man, I'd just go out and buy one. But I have to convince the wife.

She'll accuse me of only wanting it because it's fast.

Frank S,

My wife will be taking the kids to their gymnastics classes Monday afternoon (4:30-6:30). Feel free to stop by when you get off work. I'll be done at 4:00 as usual and since Monday is just a couple days after Saturday (when I take a bath (whether I need one or not)) I won't be so stinky and dirty. Perhaps we can go and hunt down a few ricers, or play with the G-Tech if you're so inclined.

Sorry guys. I love the Lightning and really want one. But we got a 2001 Suburban instead. It's a big old dog with that 5.3L engine (it's faster than our Escort though, and maybe quicker than some ricers). But the realities of being a family took over. I like the Suburban despite it being slow. It's comfortable and quiet and has a ton of space inside. And it's even got a TV and VCP to keep the kids quiet on those long trips to Grandma's house.
