Congrats on your so to be new purchase. Hell. Iam excited. Great choice on the color. I will be cruising by the chevy dealership when they make the showroom. I'll still keep the Lightning though.

Yellow00- The first mod that I would do is chrome wheels. I am no fan of those gray wheels.

Hey at least now you will have something to back up the CYAFORD plates. It would take one Hell of a mustang to run low-low 12's on the street. I also saw on corvette forum that a stock Z with drg radials ran a 11.97. Now that's nasty for a stock car!!

The last time I went to the track I lined up against a Cobra that ripped off a high 10sec pass. I knew I was in trouble when I saw that he had what looked like a set of Bike tires on the front and some pretty heavy slicks on the back. There's still gonna be many many people that are gonna have faster cars(and trucks) than me, but at least I'll start off not too far behind before I start to mod. I believe "Power Shifter" on the Vette Forum has had several high 11 runs. I know I will not see those times because I want to know what my car will do right out of the garage with everything on it that came from the factory. I'm not even gonna let air outta the back tires........ Unlike my '00, I'm gonna have to go for the low speed street races instead of the high speed ones. I doubt any of the major car mags will get the new Z to go 0-60 in 3.9, but maybe they'll get the 4.0 that Chevy claimed the '01 could do, although nobody could duplicate it. The quickest time I recall is 4.3 by Motor Trend. Of course it will all depend on the driver, so we shall see............. Damn, I wish I could just take a month long nap or something and wake up and go pick up the car. This wait is killing me! *LOL*

Yeah you def need to kill the skip-shift thing...I wonder if it is still as eassy to defeat as it used to be when it first came out....

oh and PLEASE tell me you are not going to ghetto the car out by chroming those beautiful wheels.

Yep, CAGS(Computer Aided Gear Selection) will be the first thing I take care of. I'm gonna have the dealer install it the day it arrives. There's nothing worse when you're trying to slam into 2nd gear and you grind because the computer will only let you shift from 1-4 while going under 19mph at low speeds.

I have no plans to change out the wheels. I guess I'm one of the few who liked the '96 Grand Sport wheels. I doubt I'll ever add NOS. Any performance mods will have to wait until next year........

01Bolt: Time will pass? I swear it feels like it's been a month since I ordered. I can't wait to find out my TPW so I can go up and watch it being built. I sat in the Yellow one for a little while while it SLOWLY came down the assembly line. It was so amazing to see what the car looks like from the start to finish. Hopefully the date will fall on my day off, because I'm not gonna be able to take any time off of work. See ya!

Ted

Yellow00, does this mean you'll be Blue02? Kinda has a rhyme all the time. I think your first mod should be the seats. I lust for the new Vettes until I see those seats. On the other hand, I guess it's better to have them spend the money on the moving parts...the hell with the seats.

Actually I liked the Grand Sport wheels (blacked out leftover ZR-1 wheels) although I also love the New Z06 wheels...good to hear you are not going to chrome them...that would be ultra gaudy on a car like that.

Congradulations yellow 00!

There was a Corvette club at Famosa Raceway last time I ran my truck. There were two Z06's there running 13.00-13.10's Both were novices, and used the traction control in first gear. Once the Vette was underway, they swicthed it off? I didn't know you could do this. Anyway, I made them look like pros' leaving the line.

Have fun, the times that they didn't use the traction control, they were seriously out of control.

LOCO: Yeah, I've heard the seats SUCK in the Z06. They're not bad when you are on a straightaway(which seat isn't?), but on a road course(which the Z06 was made for) they lack the ability to hold you in place. The sport seats I had in my coupe was like a glove. I've heard some owners on the Vette forum that are gonna swap their seats out with the sport buckets. I guess I'll have to see for myself.

Jay: They switched the TC off while doing a pass? I'm surprised they ran 13s period. The TC can be turned off at anytime. AH(Active Handling) can only be tunred off while at a stop, although on the new models AH can be turned off while in motion. I ran with TC on one time and I ran a 14.8 in my Coupe. I felt stupid! Never again...........

Congrats- Awesome car, I've been shopping for a vette myself. There are some great deals available on C-5s now that definitely were not there last year.
