*off topic* need help headlamp problem
fellow ford owners, maybe you can help me.
guys, i have an issue that suddenly occured with my headlights last night. i have a 93 mustang (similar interior controls of late 80s/early 90s taurus) and if you push the blinker arm foward, it clicks into place, locking high beams on,until you pull the arm back to normal position. if from the normal position you pull the arm back (toward u) it temporarily puts high beams on (until you let the arm go back into normal position). i am sure anyone with fords from the late 80s/early 90s knows exactly how it works.
the problem is, i pulled the blinker arm toward me (to temporarily put on high beams, but when i let it go , they stayed on. i got home and turned the car off, but the beams stayed on (even after i turned the headlamps off). the blue high beam icon on the dash is staying lit, even with the car off and the key out. i had to unplug the bulbs from the socket in the headlamp assembly to turn them off. my blinkers work, my tailamps work, the only thing not working is the headlamps. even with the headlamps unplugged and the car off, the blue high beam icon is still lit on the dash. (suggesting to me its not the headlamp bulbs that are causing the problem, but maybe a deeper electrical issue??). does anyone know what fuse runs the headlamps in a 87-93 ford mustang? i want to see if the fuse is messed, before bringing the car to an electrical speciaiist. any other ideas would be appreciated. thanks, dave 93 gt

I don't think it is a fuse problem, because if the fuse is gone, it will not work at all! It is probably the the high beam switch. I had that problem in my '87 escort. Replaced the high beam switch and it was ok!
another thing that may be an issue.....my steering wheel has an air bag......i don't know if that will cause the cost to go up....i hope not. {unless they need to take off teh wheel to fix it]

I put a new "stalk" or "arm" or whaterver you want to call it (LOL) on my 96 Cobra about 4 months ago. It was $57 from my Ford dealer and only took about 15-20 minutes to install. All I had to remove was the ignition switch and the plastic covering the steering column. Taking theair bag off is not a problem at all if you have to. Only 4 screws on my 96 and then you also get access to the cruise control buttons that way. This is easy to do even if you aren't mechanically inclined, and there is no way I would let Ford or someone else do it if they want to charge you labor. Just my $.02
