First time running 1/4 mile
First time running 1/4 mile
i went to test and tune thurs. night at kinston drag strip, my home track. The track was definately not hooking well, but i did manage to get a 1.99 60 ft finally, so here it is....
60 ft 1.99
1/8 8.57
1/4 13.35
mph 103.05
all this was totally stock with a diablo chip, and only 800 miles on the truck. How does this compare?
cant wait till the rally next week! who is running there sat?

Sounds darn good to me with a truck that is not even broken in as yet. By the time you get more miles on it with cooler weather you may be looking at high 12's from my experience with the '00.
Sorry I didn't make. Late getting in from work, plus we had a big rain around 6 p.m. I didn't even expect them to run T&T. Must not have had much rain at the track.
Did your buddy with the supercharged '94 L make it ? What was his time and speed? Maybe next week things will be looking better for me.

Good job L Strikes I see some 12's in your future
It will get a little quicker once it is all broken in.
Try to get the 60 foot timews down into the 1.7-1.8 range, and your times will drop.
I ran last night and the 12's are just teasing me ran 13.1 yet again. But I am getting better off the line I beat a Vette who ran a 13.0 He started gaining on me but I still beat him by .233
Thats 4 vetts races and 4 vetts defeated.

Wow, 13.35's with just a chip and 800 miles. These trucks never seize to amaze me.Forget high 12's, throw a filter kit, a lower pulley and some more miles on the odometer and assuming you could ever get traction after all that you might be looking at mid-12's
I sure wish us Colorado guys (and girl-ChristyAnn) could get those sort of numbers at this altitude. Bandimere is at 5800 ft not including correcting altitude for weather conditions. I took my truck to TruckFest last July the second day I owned it. My truck was a dealer-demo so it already had 2700 miles on the clock but was other wise completely stock. The best time I could muster all day was a 14.67.
I have since dropped a few mods into her but have yet to be back to the track with my L' except when towing my Ranger to the track. I've learned the hard way when your day is going bad enough that your racecar breaks do not be tempted to race your tow vehicle
I'm going to try to get back up there in the next couple of weeks if only just for test and tune. In my experience all vehicles I've raced at both high-altitude and sea level pick up anywhere between 7tenths and a full second when you drop down to sea level. However I've never raced a supercharged application in both settings. Just curious what kind of altitude your track is at just to see how my truck compares "nearly" stock to stock with a 01'.
Again, awesome times. Keep throwing mods at it and keep us posted. Also, welcome to the board. I just registered in Feb. but had been peaking in ever since the day I bought my truck. You'll learn gobs of cool stuff. If you can't find something in the FAQ don't be afraid to ask. Even if the grumpy old guys like NOELVM jump down your throat for asking the same questions over and over again. I'm convinced that someone whizzed in his Wheaties
Personally I don't mind reading the same old stuff over again. Sometimes it's something I was interested in but had forgot about and reading about it again refreshes my memory.

Y2K, he got some mccreary tires at the last minute (not fair) and he went a 13.08 at 104!!! but when we got to work fri morn. he was sad with a blown head gasket. We dont know why, because the truck only has 40K miles, and he just put the cam and powerdyne blower on it a month or so ago, oh well were going to tear it down this weekend and tommy is going to work on his heads some next week. I gotta get some slicks!!! one of my slower runs, 13.4something, had a little more mph than his 13.08, so i think i could have gotten him on some tires.
Twiztid, yea i'll be there next weekend at VMP
oh yea, i put in a level 10 shift kit yesterday at work, but that wasnt in there when i ran thurs night.
