Thumbs up 2001 tail lights installed....

YAY!

i used several washers on the bottom bolts to keep them from breaking thru the housing..
3/8 worth of washers.. plenty of bolt left, and it doesn't stick out.

just found out that club photo only keeps your albums for 90 days... after that, they get deleted, or you pay to keep them up.

Just grind off the end of the screw about 1/4 " and use only one washer. The screw will not pop through.

bennett399 - the bottom bolts on the 99-00 lightning are too long.
either grind some off or use washers.. i had washers handy.
the bolt goes into a countersunk hole, so you cant even see the washers or bolt.

ally69 - i bought them used from a guy that was selling his lightning. he bought them from ford before they became scarce.

LowRiderHD2000 - thanks!

Brooks,

They look great on your truck!

ally69,

I just got a set of 2001 taillights from JDM Engineering. They have them in stock and cheaper than my dealership. They even include the correct length screws with the lights!

I got my '01 tail lights a month ago and I used the original bolts with no problems! I got the lights through my dealership for $38 a piece.

I happen to have a 2001 rear set that I will sell and ship for $56. The set includes both rears.

I used 4 washers on the bottom bolts and all worked well.

Let me know

Have any of you guys checked your dealer? I saw them for sale at karkrafters for like $200 a set. I got mine from my dealer for $38 a piece. They might habe to back order them, but it is better than paying outrageous prices.

clonetek - That looks like the exact same size and number of washers I used on mine. Well I should say the second set. I didn't figure it out until I popped a hole through the back first set.
