Lightning wont start!
Lightning won’t start! Little history: 39000 miles, 2004 stock. Drive the truck maybe twice a month when I do drive it. I haven’t driven it in three months. Well, the last time I drove it, the check engine light came on. I had it checked, but forgot what the code was, so I parked it for a bit until I had a chance to check it out. Well, pulled it out yesterday to get it registered, the check engine light still on, so went and had the codes pulled (P0443). So got it registered, drove around time for a bit and back home, ran fine no problems while we were out. Came back and did some research on the code. The wife went to drive the truck to get some food, the truck wouldn’t start. So I went out and tried it, didn’t start, turned over and over. I tried it again and floored it (thought it was flooded), it started and ran fine. The wife left on her way. About thirty minutes later, she called and said it wouldn’t start. So I went to see what was wrong. It never started again. At first thought it was the fuel filter, replaced still doesn’t start, just turns over and over. There is ample fuel at the injectors (no gauge), I pressed the schrader valve and fuel squirted with pressure, so assuming it has fuel, but won’t start.
Question? Is there a way to check if it is firing or not. Never worked with coil overs, I don’t know if the old shade tree test would work.
Next question? Is there a way to test the ECM? Maybe pull it and have it tested?
Any help would be appreciated.
Note: Not battery or starter (turns over and over)
Thanks in advance

Well, got the truck home, did some troubleshooting and found the truck is not firing. Removed coil pack, connected plug, grounded it, not spark. What could cause this to happen, PCM?
Update: New crank and cam sensor, removed coiled pack-tried on another car, it is good., check fuel pressure again, it is good and steady, checked all fuse/relays under hood, all good, I checked over entire engine for bad connections, burned wires, nothing. I am starting to lean towards the computer. Anyone know how to test the computer short of buying one? Can the computers be taken out and tested by a dealer? Oh, how much do computers run? Havent checked with the ford dealership yet?
I am lost. Still no spark. Tks

Update:went out and checked the voltage at the crank sensor, getting a little over 1 volt. checked to see if everything else (injectors, coil, cam sensor) getting any power and they are. Tried to start, truck fired right up. Ran it a few minutes, let it warm up and then turned it off. Wouldn't start back up. so retraced everything again, did the same exact thing, tried to start, nothing. removed battery cables, removed computer, check pins , reinstalled it, and the truck started. Turned it off again, would not restart. Retraced all wires again, tried to start nothing. I am unable to check the crank sensor or wiggle while cranking because the wife is gone. I will try wiggling stuff when she get back. This truck is making me pull what little hair I got out. Any ideas?
I did notice that when I try to start my truck, the theft light comes on and stays on while cranking for about 5 seconds and then goes out. I cant remember if it does that everytime I start the truck. Any ideas welcomed.

Anyone willing to test my PCM for me? i.e., take mine and install in your truck to see if it will start. I am still stumped as to why my truck wont start. Retested all circuits, good continuity from PCM harness to all sensors. Please help.
EMIG50m Has it done this again? I mean, any more issues or totally gone? I havent messed with it in over two months, I just covered it up for the winter, but I would like to know what's my problem. thanks for your supply.
Any one local to KC area willing to put my cpu into your truck to test if it is working or not? I really do not believe its my cpu.

you willing to pay for the PATS programming????
Fixed. It was the PCM. The PCM would intermittally not send a signal to crank sensor, therefore wouldnt start.
1400 bucks later, on the road with no problems.
Thanks for all your help.

Yup mine start to get progressively worse. It started a few times after the new crank sensor was installed at the dealer. They went back out to move the truck and wouldnt start at all.
"KOEO SELF TEST. NO CODES. DID GET THE NO START ONCE. TRANSIEVER DOES NOT SEE KEY. ORDERED PARTS. ESTIMATE FOR REPAIRS $240 PLUS TAX"
They said that would also include two brand new keys. Hopefully I don't need a new PCM because if I do I think it's trade in time, sadly.
