Question Gauge Pods and Gauge Question - RTKILLA

All,

I recently purchased the Lo-Tek 3 pod gauge pillar and the fit is terrible. I can space it in the middle of the pillar and end up with a gap of about 1/4" top and bottom. I have done a search of the archives to see if anyone had installed an Auto-Meter 3 pod gauge pillar but it appears that RTKILLA was the only one to go that route. My question is as follows: Does anyone have a picture of the Auto-Meter 3 pod gauage pillar installed or can they tell me how it looks installed. If it sounds like a better fit than the Lo-Tek pod I think I will go the Auto-Meter route (even though it's about $15 more). Also, does anyone know where to get the medium graphite interior paint to match the grey on our current pillars?

Lastly, has anyone installed the new Auto-Meter 2-channel intake temperature gauge?

This seems like it may be a decent route to go provided the install isn't a nightmare

Thanks in advance,

Dan

I bought the lo-tek 2-gauge pillar pod, and it fits almost exactly as you describe. It's just too short. I haven't put any gauges in it yet because I was thinking about just abandoning the thing...

Madhouse,

Yep...I wasn't very excited when I did the test fit on the Lo-Tek 3 pod. I'm going to see if I can get in touch with RTKILLA and ask him how his Auto-Meter fit. I'll keep you posted on what I find out.

Dan,

There was a post with a good looking two-gauge pillar (I think it was What04's truck) on here a while ago. Maybe there's another brand out there that fits better.

I found the post - here it is.

Yup, that sure is my truck, but it is in fact the Lo Tek 3 gauge pod. I was not expecting a perfect fit, as that didn't seem to be what others were getting.

I was a bit disappointed that the pod is about a 1/4" short and the fit at the bottom is far from perfect, but by sticking some foam behind the headliner you can make it work. You can't see this from the outside, by the way.

Otherwise, it's great. I've had more compliments about this mod than any other. I say go for it.

Hey whats up,

The autometer is a much better fit then the low tek pod, It gets glued to the old pillar and it has to be painted. Oncw its all done, its a perfect fit. I don't have any pics of it, but I will try to get some for you. Definetly go with the autometer.

RTKILLA,

Thanks for the info. I have already ordered the 3 pod Auto-Meter from Summit and it should be here in the next two weeks as it was a special order item. I spoke to the guys at Lo-Tek and they told me that no one else has complained about the fit so I obviously had one was manufactured incorrectly. Do you where or what color paint they used to match?

Thanks in advance,

Dan

My pod is fine and gauge help.....

I just installed my Loteck pillar 3 gauge pod and it fits just fine... it was already painted grey by them and looks great...
Now the reason why I got a 3 gauge pod,,,, they called me on monday and told me that their mold for the 2 gauge pod was bad and was putting out defective pillar pods, so they offered to send me the 3 at the same price, so I said, no problem..... I have the phantom boost and water temp. now all I need is to figure out what to put in the top one that I really wont be able to read because I am only 5 ft 7 and sit pretty low in the L.. I also need to know where to hook up my boost gauge and where people are hookin up the water temp gauge..... I think I am gonna get another water temp gauge and have it read the intercooler temp.. any help would be appreciated....

Get a transmission temp guage.....it is probably a better investment than the inercooler temp guage.
