Are you some kind of a nut? You have some!? I'm a snake/boid lover, but I am not moved to go out and get not only one, but some of the LONGEST snakes in the world. You must be a HUGE guy!

Thumbs up

I have owned one snake, a Royal (ball) Python. I under fed it (never was sexed) and it was only about 3 feet long. I had it in Panama so I didn't need a heater or anything, and for a long time it lived in an aquarium with no bottom in the yard.(so plants could grow) I can't emagine what you have to go through to take care of those big fuggers! Up to 30 feet....do you have a death wish?

LoL they arent as bad as you think . i dont have anything that big anymore . i have a female tiger retic thats maybe 15 ' and a sweet heart . i have had some 20' monsters weighing over 200 pounds but those days are over(married now). if you ever choose to get a large constrictor i really recommend a retic over anything else . they seem to be more aware of thier suroundings. if you get a good one its the best snake youll ever have . if you get a bad one huh get rid of it cause it will kill you lol .
heres a pic of a normal retic that my friend here in minnesota used to have now its down south somewhere . shes 270# for all you guys that dont know about these animals thats one big fricken snake!!

Talking

Funny, books I've read say that retics are pretty agressive. So you say they "seem" more intelligent, or that they have better eye-sight? My wife and I want another snake but it is really difficult when it gets cold. I'm sure you know. Is it expensive (I am from CA so yes electricity is EXPENSIVE) And what would you recommend for starters....Did you just jump in and buy retics off the bat? Like I said my python was very easy to handle, and I could hold it in a hand. Something that you could ware on the neck and not worry about the grim reaper would be nice. (not just sophocation, but also from gettting smashed!

if you want another id get a Ball like you had before . you can house them in a 20 gallon set up their whole life and as far as heating the you can get a 20.00 heating pad to put under the tank . if you feel you can handle bigger go for a MALE Burmese python . males do not get as big maybe only 12 to 15 feet fully grown and weigh less. albino burms a very beautiful and affordable. . to house an adult you would need a cage atleast 6 'X3'x3" sounds big but thats the minimum for a large snake .
what youve read about retics is true to a degree . when they are nasty they are REALLY nasty . but if you get a good one they are awesome . ive had both good and bad . Tiger forms have a natural calm disposition but are more expensive.
if you are gonna get a large species you have to remember they are never TAME they are TOLERANT thats all. people get killed all the time and its usually because of their own foolishness. not to scare you off i preach to everyone about this lol . also BOAs are also a good animal to look into they only get maybe 10'at the most .
