Thumbs up chipenfilter is on............

Well, my mail man brought me a package from Sal and Spiro and it was my filter kit and my 4way chip.

I put the filter on first and took her out for a spin. I noticed about a 1-1.5 gain in boost and it sounded good.

I do now have a whistle sound when I get into the go pedal. Is this normal? or do I have an airleak somewhere on the maf. I am not sure and would like to have anyones opinion. I can hear it when I step on the gas, but as the blower starts to scream I can't hear it. The whistle is probably getting drowned out by the blower.

So I really liked that and on to the chip......

Went pretty well, I had to remove the computer bracket to cut off the little tabs, because they hit the chip and on mine I could have bent one back, but the other hit some peice of plastic that was in the way. I had to do this on my last truck with the superchip, so I just decided to do it this time also.

Anyway after some cussing and scraping of the knuckles I get that all done and get the computer back in. I start her up and she jumps to attention.

So all is well. I had Sal put the following programs on
1. stock with better shifts
2. street program
3. race program
4. antitheft

I drove around in the stock mode and I could definetly tell a difference in the shifting. Firmer and held the gear a little longer.

Then I switched to street mode and boy I could tell a difference with that. It shifts much better and the power comes on much stronger also. I don't know how much I gained, but I like the feel. I have not tried out the race program yet so I will let you all know when I do.

One question, when I had a superchip you had to do the computer clearing thing to get full advantage of the program. I know that I can switch without doing that, but does the program come in slower if I just move the switch and keep on trucking. I am just wondering what you guys know about this.

Thanks Sal and Spiro, and lets get that pulley to me asap

Paul

Hey Paul,

Sounds awesome!!! I think I might make a chip my next mod. Except I think I'm going to have to get the Valet program so my G/F will get off my a$$ about letting her drive my truck.

Let us know when you get some times.

That whistle sound is normal, and you probably get a sucking sound when you first get out of the truck too!! That is normal too
