Ok, I know that being a corvette owner I seem to be sort of the enemy here, but I have a few questions. First of all, I debated on getting a lightning before trading my 99 T/A for a 98 C5, but decided to go with the vette instead. Now, I have a house and need something to be used for light hauling and towing (boat/sea-doo). Also, I drove a 2001 silver lightning the other day and am somewhat impressed...especially for it being a truck!!! My questions are...when is the current F150 body style planned to change, what changes are due out for 2002 and when does production of the 2002 start? Any information will be appreciated.

 

I have a 2001 and love it. It is great for everything. I think the 2002 model will not be available until like february.

I believe the bodystyle change is slated for the 2003 model year.

Hey, CEB. No enemies here, man...

BUT, why do people always say that the Lightning is "fast for a truck". Remember, it's still Ford's fastest production vehicle excluding the Cobra-R.

BTW, we like Corvettes. Beating Mustangs gets old sometimes.

Tampa- Actually, if the C&D article is correct, and Ford fixed their mistake, the '01 Cobra is now the fastest Ford production car I think it was last months C&D that the review was in... They wrote a lot about how many Cobra owners complained that they were not getting the rated HP from Ford - sending dyno results; Ford admits the problem; Ford corrected the issue...

Still, dollar for dollar in mods, the Lightning wins hands down
