1/4 mile times in stock 01L?

Whats a realistic 1/4 mile time for a stock 01 L?
Mine only has 157 miles on it so far. Do these things
run better after a few thousand miles? I thought
maybe I bought a slug at first, but I finally decided to take it out of overdrive and punch it @50 mph.......WOW! It pulled really hard
until I got out of it. Im new to owning a Lightning and not really
sure what to be expecting. From a 30-40 mph roll(in overdrive), its
not really that impessive on acceleration. Is this normal? Maybe
I just dont know how to drive it yet.....dunno.
Oh well, any input would be greatly appreciated.

Mine bone stock with 270 miles on the clock went 13.8's @ 98

When you get some miles on it she will really wake up Mine started feeling noticeably stronger at around 3 or 4k.

Good luck!

Mr. Dog,

When the 01's are stock they won't kick down in first when going 35-40mph. This is the reason it feels like a slug. Once you get a chip, those days will be history.
The overdrive button doesn't matter when at WOT.

What dennis said. I just posted a question about overdrive around town and mine is like yours.

It doesn't kick down like I think it should to get going when I am going like 35 or so. It go's to second and it needs to hit first to get the rpm's going I think.

Anyway I have a chip on order and that will make a big difference I am sure.

What I hate is when I start rolling out from a stoplight and it shifts into second and then the guy next to me decides he wants to race and I stomp it and it pulls but not quite like I think it should. Because it already hit second sometimes it will downshift and sometimes it won't. I find a lot of people who will roll out and then hit it. It kind of sucks, because the L will pull them everytime, but to really show them what I have it needs to be from a stop. So it doesnt shift first.

I hope my chip will change the shifts so it will hold the gear longer on part throttle and I have the chance to hit it on a roll out.

Anyway I think the L is awesome and have not had this much fun since I had my 69 firebird in high school.

It wouldn't matter anyway, you'll never get to OD in the 1/4 anyways.

Thanks for the replies fellas, I feel better knowing its not a slug.
pgio- Thanks, your post really helped.
Without a doubt, mine pulls alot harder with OD off! When its
on and the truck shifts to 2nd gear, it seems to stumble around
and hesitates just for a second before shifting. Maybe its because I only have 180 miles on it. I need to get that chip! Now is the hard part....choosing the right one.

Yo dog,

I learn alot from this board and it is amazing when someone posts and others say hey I was thinking the same thing.

Anyway, I just found out that my 4 way chip and filter will be on their way monday.

I went with the psp because of the 4 way. I like the idea of just flipping a switch and can go to stock or street or race or antitheft.

That was my choice, but all 3 L tuners make great programs.

Yeah, its great to just flip a switch on the chip but it sucks that you gotta disconnect the battery to do it!
