Arrow Misaligned body panels from the factory

Unfortunately my 2001 has this problem. Any other owners?

My situation is as follows:

Driver's side lower molding below gas cap where it attaches to the bottom of the bed. It's slightly "in", meaning it's not flush w/ the cab's lower ground effect. Seems about an inch. On the passenger side it's normal.

It seems that piece is attached correctly and not off that way. The problem seems to be the bed right there, as if it's shape from the factory is off and out of position. My dilemma is that if it is the bed, it's fiberglass, and trying to reposition that is going to be next to impossible.

I can post a pic tomorrow so look for one either then or Sunday. Also, if I claimed warranty I wonder if they will have to replace the whole damn bed or just maybe have a body shop try and reposition it. I don't see how they will w/out a lot of damage and then repairing plus paint, as that piece is all one piece w/ the bed. I'm not a body man so I may be wrong. Help and info. would sure be appreciated.

Anyone else w/ this problem or similar problems?

Thanks,

BfB

Are you sure it's your molding though? I believe it's the body panel itself that the molding attaches to.

If you remove the step pad you will find the bolts that hold the side on. They have some adjustment in them .It may or may not be enough. If it is, tighten the vertical ones first and then put a shim between bed side and the reinforcement on the horizonal one. the step pad can be tough to remove. I hope this helps.
