I have a full header back exhaust on my Gen 1 and want to get rid of the smog pump and tubing. I saw in LRS they have a smog pump removal idler pulley for the Mustang and its listed for the 5.0 or 5.8. This kit should work on the Lightning correct?

 

No need for a pulley, just redo the belt routing and run a shorter belt.

hey i have a 93 f150 5.8(w) efi...... will getting rid of the smog pump effect anything else? I mean where it connects at the back top of the engine do I just cut and cap that?

 

Most Gen. 1 L owners have experienced throwing belt's when not using the delete pulley.

Also, there is more to the delete besides removing the pump.

 

It will throw a CEL. The only way to get rid of the CEL is to have a custom tune.

 

I've got 150k on a shorr belt and never once threw a belt on my Gen 1.
