Changed sparkplugs today

109+k miles on the original factory plugs. Truck was running poorly before the new plugs but runs like new again now. I can't complain about not getting my money's worth out of the originals. I'd put off changing them for about 700 miles due to all the horror stories I remember reading about how big of a PIA that job is. It isn't bad at all. Yes it could be easier but it isn't as bad as some have made it out to be. I ended up using Bosch Platinums because Autozone didn't have the Motorcraft replacements. How are the Bosch plugs holding up for those of you who are using them?

I just changed mine this weekend it took about two hours and wasn't as bad as the search on here made it out to be. I went with TR6's for the price and recomendations of my tuner but good luck with the bosch

My truck is BONE stock engine wise. So it the factory boost level which changes with air temps. So right now i'm running the factory 8lbs but in the fall I'll be running the factory 10lbs.

With 109K on the clock i would advise you remove the blower and clean the intercooler and install a L&S Oil Seperator, change the fuel filter also. I would also go with Motorcraft plugs with stock boost and TR6 when boost is upped.

Thats just my 2 pennys.

Yeah I didn't know what the life expectancy was on the Bosch plugs. I put them in because thats all that I had available to me at the time.

Fuel filter has been changed. I considered the oil separator but it came out that the oil seepage was by design to keep a little lube on the blower rotors/bearings. I remember reading way back when home porting the stock blower was the hot-mod that blowers removed for porting on trucks with an oil separator showed some kind of signs of wear from not having any/enough lubrication going through them. This does however necessitate the cleaning of the IC periodically and yes mine is OVERDUE. Its been a while since I've frequented the board so I'm completely out of touch on what the latest findings are on LOTS of stuff.

I have never heard a blower failing due to having a Oil Separator on the motor. I would research a little more now and decide then. The clogged intercooler hurts performance, causes high IATs and causes you to be more **** to detonation which can put holes in the block.

Just helping you out my friend.

Doing good. Hadn't been on here is forever. It has REALLY slowed down a lot around here. Good to see some familar faces are still hanging. I've actually had the XX since 2000. It was the last one left at the dealer and they forced me to take it when I asked about it.

I can't remember the the name of the stuff. But I used it to clean out the eaton. You undo the brake vacumn hose and let the stuff get sucked in taking care not to stall the motor. When done let sit awhile and then take it out for a ride. You wouldn't believe the cloud of smoke when blowing the stuff out. I passes two people on bikes and totally engulfed them. It wasn't intentional.
