Does this sound fishy

http://houston.craigslist.org/pts/1068963470.html

Talked to the guy and he is a second buyer of this engine. Hasnt been started yet while hes had it. New heads and bearings? Why would there be a need to replace the heads and bearings? Blown Motor? No oil? Any comments on this would be appreciated. Talked him down to 2800. He said he would give me all his information and he would sign a paper saying anything that is wrong with the engine he would be at fault for it. What do yall think?

but call the guy up and see what he says, arrange a time to meet the guy and go take a look at it, and also get a mechanic to check it out too before you go buy it if you end up doing so.

what he said...

are they NPI heads?

head and bearings = crappy budget build... but he perfect time to replace the rods for some piece of mind if you plan on running it at all

would this for a swap into a non-SVT truck???

I'd make sure they are not patriot heads (there's been some issues lately)

and make sure you have an independant mechaninc go thru it before you but it, check the eaton for porting, rotor rub, etc

what year innercooler core is it? the '99's were prone to leak and have a different lower and midplate
